Hello! I'm going to graduate in December with my AS in Medical Insurance (not really what I wanted to do, but settled after having 2 little boys in the past 3 years and wanted an opportunity to work from home and be here during the day) but am going to start taking weekend CNA classes in the next couple of months. I plan to be a CNA for awhile (a long time :wink2:) so that I can pay off some loans and than hopefully find a hospital or facility that will help me pay for the LPN program, but I was wondering..If having a AS all ready, would some of those credits transfer? I know I would have to take nursing related courses, but what about the core classes? And what does and average LPN course timewise take? Sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance!

Hey dependent on where you took your courses and where you plan to take your lpn they may transfer a few. An average IL LPN class takes 2 and a half semesters so just over one years time
Thanks for answering. I really meant if they would transfer towards the RN program as the LPN program I will be doing first doesn't have any pre-reqs' just entrance exams.
o ok well here in IL they also have an LPN to AD student Bridge program, however these credits carry over only into other local public universities and colleges, private schools do not except or honor these transfers.
Hope this helps, thats all i know about that stuff
