Question about english exams never asked before (I guess)

Published

I passed IELTS recently (overall band 7.5, speaking 7). So I met requirement for english language proficiency.

But before taking this exam I registered for TSE (just in case I'd fail IELTS). I'm thinking if I should take it anyway since I paid money for it and who knows - maybe I'll decide to go to the state which requires it for registration? But what concerns me - if I fail TSE, will it automatically cancel my previous IELTS success and make me one not meeting english language proficiency so I'll have to pass IELTS again?

Marland is the only one that I know that requires TSE.

Most will accept either IELTS or TOEFL and a handful of states only accepts TOEFL.

If you fail TSE, it won't have any effects on your IELTS results. They are unrelated.

Hi: If you took IELTS for Visa SCreen purposes, it won't be affected by a bad score in TSE. CGFNS will issue youre VS as soon as they receive IELTS. But, you could take TSE, if you wish to, and not send the results , initially , to CGFNS, until you ' re sure you passed. It happened somethig similar to me, and I skip the last TSE although I had payed for it, because I'd already passed.

I would just like to add that Maryland now recognizes the speaking part of IELTS, as well as from the TOEFL iBT, just in case someone here has plans for MAryland.

It's really impt. that applicants know all their prospective State BON's website for up-to-date info on requirements as it always changes overtime.

Well, I have nothing to loose then. I'll take the exam anyway, just for fun. :)

Thanks!
