Just got my eligibility to sit CRNE this morning. I wondered if I should pick up a test date and send those forms (Criminal background check, CRNE application, etc) back to CRNBC or should i wait until i secure an employment in BC... Seems like it's hard to predict when i would get the temporary work permit, i feel unsafe to apply for CRNE right now because if i can't get the visa by the test date i wouldn't be able to take it! There's also a form need to be filled by my potential employer in BC, which i don't have right now... So my question is should i leave alone those forms and go ahead and find an employer first? They'll consider my current status as eligible for temporary registration right? I don't need to apply for CRNE before the employ would consider me right? Sorry if the question itself is confusing. But this is really a confusing part in the registration process!!!
Any help would be life-saving, thanks!!!

You need to bear in mind that CRNE is only written three times a year, at a predetermined date. Every applicant across Canada writes on the same day. Paper not computer based like the American test.

In my understanding, you are NOT eligible for temporary registration unless you applied for CRNE and know the exam date you are writing. After you get the comfirmation from CRNBC that you are waiting/sitting for the exam, you can find a prospective employer and have the form4 filled by him/her.
CRNBC sent me Temporary Registration Fact Sheet when I was in your position, it says "Eligibility: if you have applied to write the registration examination and have a BC employer agreeing to provide supervision, or are completing a post-basic clinical nursing education program in BC."
Please make sure what the letters from CRNBC said, because your situation and my situation are different. (I'm PR and you are living different country etc...) The regulations regarding Temporary Registration might be different from mine.
If I were you and the regulations were the same, I would consider 2 ways.
1. I apply for 2nd closest exam (which is February next year) and start to look for an employer. This way, I will have enought time to get VISA, so I won't miss the exam. (if my file will not expired within this period of time!)
2. I come to BC for a few days just to write the exam so I dont have to worry about VISA (I'm from Japan, I dont need VISA to stay in Canada for max 6months.) then go back to my country, look for an employer.
I dont know if these ways work for you or you think it sounds OK.
I hope you have better idea what to do in your position right now.
Good luck!!!
