Question about credit by exam

Published

Hello, i am in the process of applying to excelsior college. After surfing their website, i thiught i could take classes for each nursing theory class. But My admission counselor was telling me that they offer both classes and credit by exam. I am just trying figure out exactly the credit by exam works. My question are: What are the cost of exams? Are the exam difficult? How do you study for exam? Is their a time limit on taking the exam? Thank in advance

Did you download and read the nursing catalog? It explains the difference. Tuition information is also available on EC's website.

No i didn't . Thanks for the tip. Im going to go download the catalog now.

Credit by exam is you pay for the test around $ 300- 400 per exam. depend upon upon which exam you take. you have to study for test, and go and take exam.

I am currently trying to complete their program as well by credit by exam....I was told that you take the test pass it and move on to the next...the test are exactly $405 each and there are 6 total and all you have to study would be the study guide....Chancellor's learning system has them and they currently have a special were that are matching your down payment...total that i was quoted was $1910 plus the cost for each test. I was going to do chamberlain as well but i thought, excelsior is just the cheaper and fast why to become a RN without getting into a lot of debt. no time limit. my mother did it and obtain her RN in less than 6 months

You do realize that Chancellor's has no correlation with EC, right? Chancellor's is just a publishing company & cannot grant degrees.

try study group 101 they are only 10 dollars and no contracts
