i have a bachelor's degree, but it is not in nursing. can anyone tell me what the best way to become certified as an RN would be? i would like to do this and then obtain my masters in nursing. any help would be really appreciated.
thanks.
I didn't have to work too much during nursing school because my husband was supporting me so I think I only worked 24 hours/week sophomore year and then went down to 16 hours junior year and then did not work senior year. That is totally fine if you get your ADN. Best of luck to you in nursing school! :)
If I were married, that would be perfect for me. However, I'm single and definitely could not afford to be out of work. Thanks for your help. We will see how it goes!

You could always live off of student loans......
I just graduated from an Accelerated BSN program in GA. I had a BM in music performance. I did all my pre-reqs (A&P, CHEM, Micro, PSYC) at the local community college all at night while I worked during the day in the Army. My daughter was 2 at the time in daycare. I finished my Pre-reqs in 3 semesters and then began Nursing school full time. This is where I choose to LIVE off student loans and work in the summer my program was 4 semesters with summers off. It also allowed for 1-2 years more to go get my Master's unfortunately I was not going to have enough time to finish my masters before I had to move (Husband's in the Military) I have now graduated with my second Bach. Degree and will sit for boards soon..
Not everyone will choose to live off the loans but it worked for me... I look at it as an investment into my life. I was able to get some grant money from my school and scholarships help also....
Hope this helps if you need further info PM me..
