Question about A&P

Published

I heard that A&P is has a 50% pass rate and those whom have not had a science classs in the last 2-3 years will have problems.....how true is this? The reason I ask is I plan to take my pre reqs over a course of a year and a half, begining with English, Math, Medical Terminology, and Pysc......the plan is to start A&P 1 next fall along with Chemistry and a few other classes.......would I be better off to switch something around and take Chemistry this coming Spring before A&P1......I mean it's a form of science class???? Am I overthinking this? I took a less complex form of A&P in surgical tech class many years ago, although it was more anatomy than physiology, but I still did really well then....I'd love to hear what other people, have done or are doing.......do you wish youhad done anything differently?

Thanks!!!

I feel so weird about this whole school thing, some days I seem to worry more than others and then other days, I'm like I can do this!!!! HAHA I think I must have been in a mode of panic when I posted this, and since this post I've actually printed the syllubus for our chem class and actually it doesn't seem super scary at all!

I do however agree that chem should be a pre req to A&P, lthough I am not quite in nursing school I do have a good collection of books and study references I am already going over.....one of which happens to be an A&P book and I am in the 3rd chapter now, which covers the cell biology and it is a bit tough, and I find myself references the first chapter regarding the atoms, and molecules ect......so based on this I think chem first would help......but I dont have that option after investigating further.....in my school they require math as a pre req.....ok fine I'm taking math in the spring....so I COULD take chem during the summer.....HOWEVER I will have a house full of kids home on summer vacation and that wont work....so my only choice is to put my big girl panies on and grab chem and A&P both by the horns and rock em both out in the fall.......I am sure I can do thins, just nerves!!!! But in an excited way if that makes sense, I just wanna do the best I can as I sure everyone here can understand!

You can do Chem and A&P at the same time. No worries! Just make sure you get a planner and put all your homework due dates, quizzes and tests on it. Then in the days in between, schedule your study time. It's immensely helpful to know exactly what you need to do each day. If you break it down into small chunks, not only is it easier to remember, but it doesn't seem as daunting either :)

You can do it!!!

Don't worry, just check around and get reviews on your professors. I took this class when I was 17, just finished HS. I was homeschooled and did not have to take science my last two years because I had already finished them. My professor was not easy but he was through and would answer questions! Also make sure to take the time to study! Studying is key to success in this class!! :)
