I did this recently. Full time job went to 50% time (to keep benefits) and then two PRN gigs to pick up the rest of the time. For the last 2 months I've had more work offered than I'm willing to pick up. It is working well so far, but you will probably have the worry that someday their won't be enough work available--I do.

I'm strongly considering this very option and haven't even ruled out taking a lower paying non-nursing job-something like one day a week. I'm reaching maximum burn out and think this may be a viable option. Please give me your thoughts
That could be awful, depending on the requirements of each job and how the scheduling is done. People with two jobs always seem stressed about making them work around each other, unless they have complete control of their schedules (and well in advance).
Weekend and holiday requirements should also be considered. My per diem job requires one major "Winter" holiday, for example. If I had two jobs, I might be required to work two major Winter holidays instead of one.
The only reason I would consider two part time jobs would be to test the waters if I planned to jump ship.
