PVT - bad popup x(

Nursing Students NCLEX

Updated:   Published

I took the NCLEX-RN today and tried the PVT 2 hours later.

First, I entered in an incorrect credit card number and it wouldn't let to proceed to the second page. Next I entered in the correct numbers but incorrect security code, got to the second page and hit submit order, and I got the bad popup: "Your credit card has been declined.."

Soooooo....

Is the PVT still an accurate indicator, and if I got the bad popup does that mean I failed?

There have been reports of the PVT being wrong. However, you didn't complete the PVT. Your credit card was declined because you didn't enter the correct information. You didn't get the bad popup, nor did you get the good popup. If you want to do the PVT, you're going to need to be willing to risk the money and enter all correct credit card info.

Alright sorry if I may be opening up a can of worms here but what about the people in this topic:

OP and a couple other responses changed their expiration date and/or security code but still got the good popup? Maybe I should just wait the 48 hours but this supposed 'bad popup' is so ominous :zombie:

Not a can of worms, just a can of incorrect assumptions ?

Most of the time it is true that the Pearson VUE registration program will not seek to charge you if you passed the test. Sometimes the card is tested and found to be invalid in which case a card declined message is received by the person playing the game called the pvt. Most of the time the card is only tested for the charge when the charge is expected to be made. Sometimes not. There are also threads here if you look around in which people will tell you point-blank they were charged $200 for their exam and they ended up passing. They threw away two hundred bucks for no reason. In your case you are taking the chance that your card being tested really means that the PVT is "right" about you and that you failed. Stupid game honestly. You are no less anxious now than you were before, right? All you can do is hope at this point. If you plan on throwing away $200 you are welcome to try again. Don't want to make the risk wait for official news. If you live in a state that allows Pearson VUE quick results, pay the $8 and find out for sure. Check with your bon's website and find out for sure. The rest is just a stupid game.

I honestly did the PVT, however I put the correct card number but wrong exp date and wrong cvc. Got the good popup. I took mine July 5. July 6 I checked BON and my license number was up. Pearson STILL tells me my results are unavailable. Just wait until your BON posts it up. Save $8. Good luck! ❤️

Yup, got the results from state board website that I failed the NCLEX on my first attempt. Surprisingly quick results processing from their end I must say.

Here were the screenshots of my 'bad popup' PVT's:

When using a deactivated credit card: https://i.gyazo.com/7b9329c87f8b1356bf96ec6ea94d81a7.png

When using a current credit card with wrong security code: https://i.gyazo.com/95e107321956f2db6ddac42f5e8c895d.png

So from what I gather, the PVT is still an accurate predictor at least in my case where getting a bad popup = failing the exam.

Very devastated. I took my NCLEX RN exam yesterday and did the trick . It said card declined. So Is the pop up trick accurate ? I got 265 questions . Not able to get my quick results until tomorrow .
