Hi....Im new to this site. I have been stalking around the internet for some info on Inter Univ Metro Campus forever. I recently applied, and am waiting for my acceptance. All of the info on this website has been so helpful. Most of my questions have been answered. I applied for the Fall 2011 session. I plan to do my Associates first with the ADN program. I have a one year old. I will be moving from Orlando Florida. Im looking for apts, and a car. If any one want to get in contact or share any info with me just message me. Thanks in advance. Awesome job guys..with the info...
My apartment will be up for grabs as of June 1st. My landlords held my apartment for me in July 2009 when I came here for school, they are excellent, people super nice and very helpful. (example: i had a flat tire the day before my NCLEX, land-lady went out and bought me a new one, so i could continue studying) The apartment is not very close to the school b/c I wanted to be by the beach and away from the madness of San Juan. I'm in a town called Levittown, PR its a 25 minute drive from the school. 1bedrom, eat-in-kitchen combo, rent is $500 a month including all utilities, plus cable. Its on a dead end street, close to the malls, beach, a strip of bars and a track, *if you like to run outside. If interested message me your email address.
PS: cars are really crappy out here, if you want something decent it will cost about $5000 or you can ship your car.
If you go to the student services office or talk with "E" there is a list of student housing available which makes it easy to find a cheap place. Also in case some of you do not know there is a house at the school that you can stay at for $30 a night in case you have not found anything by the time you get here.
I've also decide to go with UMET, I based my decision on the fact that UMET offers Human Anatomy, Microbiology and Chemistry for Health Science course where as the InterMetro does not. The inter metro claims to incorporate these course in there nursing courses but I would much rather take the courses and the labs. The director showed me the classrooms which are very well equipped!!!!!!!! The UMET works with Bimesters, the program consists of 17 nursing courses, anatomy microbiology and chemistry, so I think you can finish it in 2 years!!!! :)
Hi,I was just reading through the old posts and was wondering if anyone knows when the application deadline is for InterAmerican, or any other schools? Also any other information about admissions anyone can contribute is greatly appreciated. I want to try and get in for Fall 2011 as it is very difficult to get into a program here in FL.
Thanks
If im not mistaken the deadline for the Intermetro is May1st for the august admissions, thats what it says on the website. Apparently UMET does not have a deadline and Im not to sure about the universidad de puerto rico but i would also imagine it has to be done early on since it is a public institution and the tuition is so affordable
Like JTorres89 stated the classes are VERY well equipped! Stimulation Dolls, clean classrooms, they have big tables not small HS chairs, projectors for powerpoints. The director gave me the tour and showed me EVERYTHING! from all the labs to the general ed class rooms. I may have to take some classes like history of pr and what not but its worth it. Plus so far there are about only 8-10 students signed up for the program which is lovely smaller classes.
I have chosen UMET too! Jen helped me decide in a way. I've been to the Inter and it wasnt bad but not anything I'd be happy going back to. UMET has better facilities, labs, etc. Fully bilingual professors and small class sizes.
Ultimately, it's fine with me it takes a few more months. I'm confident that I will learn there what I need to become a nurse and pass the NCLEX. Its the best choice for me, just like the Inter might be for others.
I can't wait to start : )
