Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

I've already been accepted into the university, but I still have to do the whole nursing school application thing. My MIL has been struck with slot machine fever, and she is NEVER home to watch the kids during the day for me to go down there and talk to the director. *sigh*

So, I am confused Misty..Do you have to apply to the school and then the nursing program? or  what do you mean by nursing application...

Yes, I believe you have to apply to the university first and then talk to the director of the nursing program. The nursing program needs your police record from here, immunization records, CPR certificate (I think!) and I *think* there is a drug test involved, but I'm not sure. So, there are some things you need to do before you get in to the actual nursing program. I'm pretty sure you'll be alright though ;-)

LOL I've heard that slot machine fever can be contagious! I can't stand the things though. I guess I have really, really bad luck, because I never win anything!

Misty--Ur the best!! Thanks and you didnt text me the numbers =(

Woohoo!!!! I received my official acceptance letter in todays mail! It is official. I am in.

I am officially moving to Puerto Rico!

I was holding out on one school. My number one school was LSU in New Orleans and today I received my official rejection letter for LSU today so I can stop waiting and quite honestly it would have been hard if I had to choose between New Orleans and Puerto Rico. The programs and the locations are so different but both have their pros and cons. When I listed them the pros and cons for both were pretty equal.

Anyway the decision was made for me and I am 100% without doubt moving to the island.

I was thinking I would fly out for a week in June and secure housing and maybe work on stuff like the police report and whatever else I need. Then I was thinking I would move out the third or fourth week in July. what is everyone else planning to do?

Oh this is too good to be true. I was scooping out the yoga studios and it appears there is one that will fit my needs well above the others as it has Jivamukti, orificeara, AcroYoga, Dharma yoga and a ton of other styles I practice and it is less than a mile from the University. Just way too good to be true.

Hey current students can you please tell me what color uniform is required? I would like to get some of this stuff in advance. Do we have to put the school patch on it or anything?

Also I was looking at the schedule and it looks like we have the whole summer off. Is this true? I thought it went straight for 21 months? What do people do in the summer? Is there another schedule I am missing?

I am sure I will have more questions to come now that I am officially in.

Wow I am going to have to change everything. I have checking accounts with Bank of America, Chase, and Citibank and none of them have a presence in PR. Any suggestions on who to bank with? I can only find local banks. Any large US banks in PR?

My mobile phone provider is Verizon and they don't operate in PR. Any suggestions there? And darn I just got the Motorola Google Droid and LOVE it but it ONLY works with Verizon so that's gotta go.

This move is going to be a little less seamless than anticipated.

Anyone know of an inexpensive place to stay in Rio Piedras for a week while house hunting? It seems like ALL the accommodations are near the beach. I can't find anything that is not near the beach.
