There is going to be some directed investment in public health in this country. It sounds like there are going to be more jobs in infection control in a variety of settings. More jobs in healthcare IT with a simultaneous need for digital access and digital security.
What say you?

There has always been funds from the federal government that go into public health. Every year it is part of the budget. This is nothing new. The IT area is interesting though and could be helpful.

No of course I don't believe that... really who would think that. Our tax dollars get wasted every year in many areas and public health care is no different. That's why I said that in the first place. The person posted it made it seem like this was the first time it was happening and that it really was going to make a difference. I hope it does but it prob won't since it hasn't really made a difference before.

Public Health entities "hasn't really made a difference before". I assume I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say.

I was saying that she was right. Federal dollars going into public health have not really made that much of a difference in public health.

What I meant to say is the funds were not adequate. Just like she said I was agreeing with her

I think the state of health of the general public reflects a neglected public health infrastructure and an inadequate public health budget.
