I saw this in my Facebook feed and wanted to get it out to as many nurses as possible. Please consider going to the site ( http://nursingworld.org/MainMenuCategories/EthicsStandards/Revision-of-Code-of-Ethics-Panel/Comment-Revision-of-Code-of-Ethics ) and making your voice heard. I have cut/pasted the following from the site:

Public Comment on the draft Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. Thank you for your interest in reviewing the American Nurses Association's revised Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. The full draft of the revised document is available here and may be printed to help with your review. We encourage you to read and reflect on the entire document before you begin the comment process as topics in the Code may have been moved to a later section or appear in a different place than in the previous version. For the preface and each of the nine provisions, please provide your comments in the appropriate section below. As you review the drafts and prepare comments you should make reference to the specific line numbers found on the left side of the draft of each provision. Again, we appreciate your time and look forward to your feedback.

The deadline for submitting comments is June 6. The attached draft is for public review and comment only. It is not for attribution or distribution.

Better question would be: How many people are members of ANA? Where I work, very few are and I don't understand that. It is expensive to join, but you get your local membership as well.

I did not get my comments in, I forgot, but I think it is very important for nurses to advocate for one another.

One did not have to be a member to comment. I'm not a member and I had no problem.I have some issues with the Code of Ethics so I thout it important to modernize it.

I don't think I would have known about it I was not a member. I was making a comment on the fact that not as any nurses are as involved as they could be.

I can't access it anymore, what were some of the issues?
