It won't help your chances on getting in, but it is a nice honor to have on your record. I was inducted into PTK back in 1988, when I first went to college. It's still on my transcript all these years later. When the advisor was reviewing my transcripts, she said "Oh! Phi Theta Kappa...great!" I asked if that would get me points for admission. She said no, but the fact I'm in means I'm a good student and can handle the course load.
Congratulations on PTK! You've EARNED it!!!
Congratulations! I just joined PTK also, although I don't know if it will have an impact on acceptance to a nursing program. I think it will be helpful if/when you move on for a bachelor's degree program. The information I received with my invitation indicated that PTK can be helpful with letters of recommendation and scholarships. It's all good!
Congratulations to you all!! :) I just got my pin and certificate in the mail this weekend for PTK. While I don't think it will actually help get us in, I think it's a great thing to have on our educational records. Plus, it's just an exciting reward for all the hard work we put in!
Great job all!
I joined PTK and most of the schools I applied to as a transfer student gives you scholarships just for being part of PTK. For the fee of I think it was $50 I got a transfer scholarship for the lowest one $1000 and the highest $15,000 (The 15000 scholarship's tuition was wayyy to high though) renewable every year. I think it's definately worth it and it is something that will fill a line on a nursing app

Hey yall. Well i have been working hard in school and doing a good job of keeping my grades up as a pre-nursing student. i have been recognized for my hard work and invited to join phi theta kappa honor society. I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with this society and if it helps an individuals chances of being accepted to nursing schools.
