  1. I had the same problem with L and XL...I bought 2 of the large and 1 of the XL for the uncomfortable days lol....Either way, I'm not too happy with the way that brand fits either. The womens shirts sort of bunch up too. That said....wooooo I start Monday!!!
  2. SO excited for you! My first day is in a week, and I am super excited too :) No iPad here...but HOPEFULLY soon. :bowingpur
  3. Amazon.com: Saunders Student Nurse Planner, 2012-2013: A Guide to Success in Nursing School, 8e (Saunders Student Nurse Planner: A Guide to Success in Nursing School) (9781455742479): Susan C. deWit MSN RN CNS PHN: Books I got this one as a gift and it's pretty awesome!
  4. About an hour and twenty, depending on traffic :) I won't know about clinicals until they get schedule, but they are all over, with the closest being about an hour away... With 3 kids at home, I look at it as much needed down time. :)
  5. I agree with this totally. Only your actions can show her that she is...umm...misguided in her attitude. You may also want to find a way to let her know that yes, you respect her thoughts and that you appreciate her concern, but that right now you are doing something for you and your children and that support is what you need. My mom is quite like yours, always looks to the negative, and I have to handle her with "kid gloves" and explain that even if she had to fake it a little, I needed her support and that if something bad DID happen, she could do the "I told you so" dance for a year! Good luck to you!
  6. Ha!! I feel the same way! Seriously, bored, I've read 2 books, caught up on tv (thank you Netflix!), and that's it, I am just wallowing in my boredom! I think my obsessive behaviors have migrated into my education! Lol
  7. I start Micro June 25th...I'm pretty excited! I love all things science! I have my books, and since I have such a long (and boring!!!) break, I may look up the syllabus and start reading it. I know, biggest nerd possible alert, but really, I have nothing better to do somedays at work and it will help me stop counting the days until I start the nursing program in August :) Good luck and can't wait to see how we all do!
  8. Congrats to you!!
  9. Thanks!! And good luck to you as well! :)
  10. I read a book once that said to envision the end before working on the beginning. That really helped me in my study habits. When I don't feel like doing something, or writing that paper, I look toward what I am working for. Goals my first semester of prereqs: just prove to myself that I could actually do it. My second semester: keep that high GPA and even make the dean's list and get into that honor society ( I did!!) My third semester: keep up that high GPA so I could get into the nursing program. Those small goals and envisioning myself reaching them helped me gather the motivation to get it done. If that doesn't work, reward yourself :) Say, if you finish that paper, you get one free day to play! Best of luck to you!! Also...I am 35...that is just a number! :)
  11. @jocy_anne - thanks!! I remember reading your post and being SO jealous! In a totally good way :) We have an exciting time coming up! @cokorose - thank you! And congrats on being so close to graduation?? Any advice for us newcomers? Also, as a side note, I have read my letter a zillion times in the last 24 hours..any one else a crazy person like me??
  12. That is AWESOME!! I'm on the list too....but with a 3.8....4.0 is amazing! That just shows how hard work pays off. Great job!:w00t:
  13. Thank you all SO much for the well wishes :) and best of luck to you all still waiting for your letters. AND congratulations to you all who have already gotten your own good news! :w00t:
  14. Thanks!! Yes, I am super excited! :) I start the end of August
  15. AND IT CAME!!! I was accepted to the only school I applied (the closest one, I live in a rural area), and the first try!!! I am SO very excited and had to share with you all. To the others waiting on the letter, GOOD LUCK :)
