I took my TEAS two days ago and submitted my package for the Oct class. But just a heads up the counselor at the school is on vacation and wont be reviewing the applications until the 25th. Kind of silly because the deadline is Sept 4th so she'll have alot of work to do.

i don't think you can apply for the october class, unless you attended the mandatory orientation they had on july 22nd.

jada's mommy ..... how did you do on the TEAS? are you also trying to go thru the program on the EAYL?

I did not do as well as i wanted, I scored a 79. I took the test on a whim after finding out there were still spots open for the Oct class last week. I have no idea what TEAS was because I put my school on hold when I became pregnant, but my daughter is now 3 weeks old and I'm anxious to begin. I wish I had of waited and studied but hey, it is what it is. I can take it again on the 3rd of next month which I may do. A 70 is required at PTEC so I am still eligible anyway, and the program average for the TEAS is a 74 according to my score sheet. I met a guy when I was dropping off my application who scored a 82 so considering my lack of prep and the difficulty in the test, I'm hoping I'll still get in.

Also, the last of the people added to the course will get a different orientation because they're trying to get more ppl.

that is a really good score, considering you didn't study/prepare for it :yeah:

I'm confused by your last sentence tho .... did you not attend the mandatory orientation on July 22nd? are you planning on attending the October class on the Clearwater campus? I've never heard about another orientation - would have thought with over 200 potential applicants at the July 22nd orientation, there would be plenty of students to apply to the program. where did you hear about another orientation?

There is an orientation on August 6, 2009 at the Morton Dunedin site. Come professional dress.. 9am to 3pm .. I might go to it.. Good luck!!!

that is for their CNA program, not the LPN program.

they have already held the first interviews for the October LPN at pTEC thru baycare and will be making their decisions in the next couple of weeks. also, the LPN program thru baycare specifically stated you had to have proof of attending the pTEC mandatory orientation that was held on July 22nd or they would not consider you for an interview.

I guess the original turnout was not good enough thats why they are still accepting applications. I asked about the initial orientation and was told not to worry about it I would get the same lessons if I am selected for the class. So I'm not really 100percent sure now at this point, and unfortunately the counselor over the LPN program is on vacation. I think I'll send her an email and I'll let you all know.

i think you have been given bad information. yes, they are still accepting applications, but the deadline isn't until september 4, 2009 @ noon. they will not accept applications unless they have proof that you attended the orientation.

i don't know who you have been speaking with, but i would strongly suggest you call the program director, sherry lamb.

good luck to you.

as stated on the ptec site the purpose of the admissions seminar is to review the requirements of submitting a fully complete application by the stated deadline. now no one at the office when i was there tuesday said because i didnt attend the seminar i couldnt submit a application. i submitted my application that day and they didnt ask for proof that i attended. since the true deadline isn't until the 4th of sept i don't see it being a problem. i have emailed sherry so i hope she can clear this all up.

as stated - it is MANDATORY .... i've attended 2 of them now and STILL had to attend the one on july 22nd to have my application accepted. it is part of their selection process and they also told us at the MANDATORY orientation that they will not consider any application unless you had signed off on their sign-in sheet at the MANDATORY orientation. YOU MUST ATTEND ..... it clearly states that on the application and on the website FAQs ....... and it also said i had to attend the MANDATORY orientation to be considered for the EAYL program. so, good luck to you.
