OP- you might get a warmer reception if you gave us some evidence of putting in your own effort in finding this info before asking here. IE "I did a basic google search and it seems like most NPs in (location/Service/setting) make an average of $. I'm wondering if that's true for most people here..."

Thank you for the info. I did a basic google search and it seems like psychiatric nurse practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area make around $120,000 per year. I am inquiring what NPs make who live in the San Francisco Bay Area? I am seeking info from this site because I don't know any Psych NPs. Thanks!

If you don't have any experience in mental health as a RN and don't know any psychiatric NPs how can you be sure you want to invest the time and money to become one? I'd recommend, to anyone interested in psych NP, to get acute inpatient adult psychiatric experience before doing the fast track lite NP education route. Your future patients will thank you.

From what I have heard about cost of living there, this is the approximate equivalent of making 80k in most of the country, or less.
