May I ask how many hospital visits would disqualify a nurse from obtaining a clear fitness for duty evalautions. I am looking to find the criteria that this is made up of like a matrix. I have been unable to find my answer and really looking for it. Any information would be great Thanks

I'm guessing none exists because it depends.
If you had 1 inpatient hospital visit for homicidal intentions and violent threats against an elderly bed bound patient that would likely disqualify you more than a half dozen admissions for severe major depression or bipolar mania.
Ok Thanks. I was just wondering do you think 3 of them over a ten year time frame would disqualify. I have bipolar disorder and this has happened to me but things are much better since I have started the sustenna invega shot

Three hospitalizations in a 10 year period isn't that many. I would think you would be ok. I really have no idea though. I have never heard of sustenna invega shot until a few days ago. I hope this medication helps you.
I have to agree with justbeachy though.

As JustBeachy notes, there isn't any single answer to your question. It would be less a matter of how many hospitalizations you've had than what the reasons for the hospitalizations were, how long ago they were, how long you've been stable, how compliant you are with your treatment, etc., etc.
The state BONs look at this kind of question on a case-by-case basis, and consider all the relevant information.
The first was in 2004 for diagnosis mania
The second in 2007 for mania episode
the third in 2012 for mania
The medication I felt I could never feel like it was helping.... however with the sustenna invega shot things have been wonderful and i could tell as soon as I took the shot that things were drastically better. I would have given anything to be on this shot in 2009 when it came out.
I have been in treatment since 2013 - Through present and still in treatment.
I underwent a psychological evaluation and I passed the evaluation and when I went to meet with the board this is what happened. I parked at a meter for 3 hours and I was waiting for 2 1/2 hours when I had to leave for the meter and just went ahead and left. It canceled me out a year and I am getting ready for another evaluation and I was just wondering about the criteria.
I am hoping things will be different since I can tell a world of difference on the sustenna invega shot.
Thanks for your assistance
Best wishes for your journey!
