Hello -

I am taking the PSB Examination tomorrow morning. I was wondering for those of you that have taken this exam; do they provide calculator/are they allowed?

Thanks!

Remember not ALL schools are the same...but I was not allowed a calculator of any kind on the PSB Exam when I took it in March. The math was really not that hard. There was A LOT of fraction-type questions. I just went through and did I the one that I knew how to do and then went back to try some of the ones I didn't know. We are based on a "RAW" score so the ones you get wrong don't count against you just the ones that you get right. Well I hope that helped a little bit and GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks! I just took it this morning...no calculators for us!

I took it yesterday morning for CCCCD also. I thought it was frighteningly easy. Anxious to get my results!

Hey gentylwind,

Are you planning on applying for Spring 2010 to Collin College?

I know! I want my score back so bad! I can't believe it takes them two weeks...that's a long time! haha

My school didn't allow calculators, but trust me when I tell you that it's basic math with a few very simple fractions. I took the PSB test last monday 5/4/09. I must have done something right because I received my acceptance letter in the mail this morning (starting this fall ) .

Everything is pretty easy except for the Natural Science section. I recommend that you stay calm in that section. If you have a strong foundation you will notice that 2 of the 4 answers make no sense at all, then you're left with 2 choices, and if all else fails, at least you know you have a 50/50 shot. GL

Yes, I plan to apply for spring 2010 but I still need micro (no night class this summer, which sucks) so I may have to reapply for fall of 2010. My grades are good though so once I have that I should get accepted I would think. Are you applying for then too?

Yes, I am also applying there for Spring 2010 (along with a few other places, lol!). As for classes, I'm done with the prerequisites this semester. That sucks you can't take Micro during the day! Maybe you could see if Dallas County has it at night?

Hopefully we both did great on the PSB! :-D

They do have it at night but the class runs from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM and because CCCCD is not offering it at night, everyone from Collin as well as Dallas wanted in it. Between the time and the competition to get in the course, I decided to put it off until Fall. My grades are great...I don't mind if I don't get in first try. I most likely will once I have micro, but I will have 15 points out of the 16 pt system as it is without micro....so we'll see.

Did you get your results back? I went up and got mine yesterday...maxed it out! Yay!

Any suggestions for what to use a study guide for the PSB exam. Is there a specific one that is really good. PLEASE HELP! THank You
