Nurses Job Hunt

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for timelines/questions about the TIP program for Providence starting in April 2020!

How long did it take you to get your authority to test after applying through the BRN?

I went on pearsonvue.com and made an account and paid for the exam fee. I got my ATT within the next 2 days. As long as your Livescan cleared on your Breeze account you should be good to sign up on Pearson.

When did you apply? Did you apply after you graduated or right before you graduated? I am trying to figure out if I will even be eligible for the program for this cohort. I got a video interview and completed it but not sure if I will even make the deadline ?

What specialty/unit is everyone looking to get into?

You also have to wait for your school to send the transcripts so thats a bummer...

when do you graduate?

As long as you have your license before the start date youre fine!

I don't graduate till next month. I am currently finishing my externship/senior practicum.

My school recommended us to apply two weeks before our graduation date. However, I applied after my graduation date. I think I submitted my app on 12/21, did my live scan on 1/10, signed up on Pearson on 1/21, and got my ATT on 1/23. I lagged on my live scan so I probably could have gotten my authorization sooner.

As for specialties/units, I applied for 1. Postpartum, 2. ED, and 3. Float Pool.

My first hospital choice is Holy Cross and my second hospital choice is St. Joes.

Ok that makes me feel much better. I will cross my fingers and hope it all works out then.

Hello nurses!

I applied to the Providence TIPS program for Med Surg/Tele at Saint John and Saint Joseph locations. I feel like my interview answers were all acceptable but I had one answer that I really bombed on. It sucks because it's a question that I've answered a MILLION times. I submitted my video interview questions a full week after I applied, so I hope it doesn't cause any delays! Good luck to all!

Hi! Where is St. John’s?
Was the question that you bombed on through the video interview? If so, you were able to re-record it up to 3 times. I used them to the full capacity lol ?

St. John's is in Santa Monica. I also didn't see that there were up to 3 attempts per question. Oh well ??‍♀️
