Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance VS St. Mary Medical Center

Published

Does anyone have any insight on working at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance or St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach? It would also be helpful if anyone has any comments on their experiences going through the Providence New Grad RN Program at Little Company of Mary Torrance or their experience as a new grad RN a St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach. I would love to hear how your work experiences were and how you liked the hospital(s). I would appreciate any help, thank you!

Hey, I work at LCOM and it's pretty great. Had some experience as per diem at St. Marys. Huge downside there is that they use paper charting. That automatically makes it a no go for me

dalsor,BSN,RN thank you for the insight! i agree that is a downside of it. did you work at any of these hospitals as a new grad? also, how are the benefits with Providence LCOM?

Hi dalso, BSN, RN. I was also wondering if you know if LCOM has time and a half after 8 hrs and if there is night differential?

The LCOM New Grad program is great! I did it 3 yrs ago and am at San Pedro but we do the program with Torrance. To answer your question, no time and a half after first 8 hrs of 12 hr shift. $5/hr night time differential. Time and a half on holidays.

@yginay Thanks for the reply!! :) How long was your program? Did you feel prepared by the end of your program? Also, if you have any tips of what to review/study before the program-- I would greatly appreciate it!
