Hello everyone. I am starting clinicals in August and I am looking for protective eye wear to wear in the OR. I have been finding mostly safety glasses that are frog resistant and bulky safety googles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just want to keep the blood and other body fluids out.

My OR provides disposable eye for any CRNA who wants it. That way, you aren't having to constantly clean them. You just toss them and get a new pair if they get dirty. Of course, 95% of our CRNAs don't wear it.

Most ORs have masks with face shields. Those are my preference. It is big and protective. Most ORs also have disposable glasses that shield very well as well, as was mentioned above. I used to wear a pair of quality "Gargoyle" brand clear shooting glasses. The are expensive, but have perfect optics with no distortion and were developed for pistol target shooting. Plenty of "3M" safety glasses on the market, and it is now pretty easy to find them with built in bifocal readers for aging eyes.
Thanks I saw a lot of the safety and shooting glasses just wanted to know if it was enough protection but from the sounds of it bigpappacrna it sounds like the shooting glasses will work. Thanks for taking the time to reply
