Pros and Cons of Travel Nursing

I am interested in travel nursing when I get enough experience under my belt. I always hear the perks about it, but there has to be some cons to it.

What pros and cons have any of you experienced with travel nursing and is it worth it??

Most travel agencies I spoke with before deciding to work with the one I am with say it is a requirement to have 1-2 years of experience in the field you are looking to travel in.

I agree with most of the Pros and Cons...

I would like to add, being told you make more money then everyone else, so of course you need to KNOW IT ALL.

I'm pretty over travel nursing. You'll find most people only do it a few years. I want out...really bad. Good things about it: you aren't involved in politics and have the freedom to leave in a few months, so none of the BS bothers you that much. You learn a lot, how different hospitals work, and how patients are treated. I can't explain how much I've learned.

Bad things...sometimes you are treated as a number and floated around, also no one knows your experience so you aren't always trusted with the most difficult patients, and it gets annoying when charge nurses question you about things or tell you things that you already know. Another bad thing is not having a permanent home, a routine, I miss having a set of friends and my own place..I miss that a lot. You do meet a lot of people, but it can be lonely sometimes as well.
