What is the deal with some dr's/nurses pronouncing

"centimeters" like "sontimeters"???? I've heard this a few times and it puzzles me. Are these people from Boston or something???

Heck, I'm originally from the South. Occassionally we would run up to the store for a coke. What do you want Pepsi or Dr. Pepper?

To us coke was soda, not a brand name.

I'm from the midwest- it's pop. When I moved to Georgia they would look at me crazy and ask me what kind of coke I wanted. (And then I would look at them crazy:) ) In Washington State I think pretty much anything worked. When I lived in New York it never failed if I asked for a pop I got coffee. Not sure why. Sure am glad to be back in the midwest.
