Program Interview Questions

Published

I'm so excited! I have an interview for an LVN program on April 4th. I've gotten good scores on the tests, completed all my packet requirements and prerequisites, and this is the last step. Can anyone tell me what kinds of questions to expect in the interview? I figure I'll get the "why do you want to be a nurse" questions, but what else?

Thanks!

Well, for me that was pretty much it. We went over my scores, why I wanted to be a nurse, and thats about all. Dress nice, like a job interview and you'll be fine. Good luck!

My school asked the above questions, plus a lot of questions about my ability to finish the program. They asked about my family and friends support (especially my husband), how I felt about leaving my children and who would be providing childcare, and the level of commitment I felt about completing the course. Best wishes to you!

My interview was the same. The director REALLY wanted to make sure I was up for the rigors of the program. She even told me to make sure my finances were intact.

My school only accepts 40 out of about 250 applicants, so I can understand why they were so thorough about everything.

Good luck to you!!

They asked very simple and basic questions, such as, what characteristics do you possess that would aid you in your nursing career and why do you want to become a nurse. They also want to make sure that you will be able to commute to the various clinical sites so they'll probably ask you something about that.

Good luck!! You'll do wonderful!

congrats on getting an interview!!

the questions i had in my interview were pretty basic.. why did i want to be a nurse? did i have childcare? why should she chose me instead of the other applicants in the waiting room? what is my best quality? hth, and let us know how it goes! good luck!! :yeah:
