Hi everybody, I'm attending Sac and got this email last week with instructions on how to submit a headshot for our ID badge: This is a friendly reminder that your New Student Orientation will be held on the Sacramento Campus on December 2nd from approximately 9am to 4pm. To set you up for success, we've created a handy Orientation – Getting Started at SMU checklist for you to track all the requirements and action items. Access your personalized checklist with these steps: Sign in to SMU's online engagement portal, SMU Pulse, with your SMU username and password. You can also sign in using SMU Total Access by clicking on the SMU Pulse logo: Find the Orientation – Getting Started at SMU info on your homepage under Curriculum Progress” *IMPORTANT*: All students will receive a badge at Orientation which serves as your key into the building and classrooms once the school year begins. Please follow the attached directions and submit a badge photo ASAP so that you can receive your badge at Orientation. Without a photo, your badge cannot be processed.

I actually got an email today regarding the Sac orientation. They changed it from 2 days to 1: Friday, Dec. 2, 9am - 4pm. "On behalf of the SMU Student Services Department I would like say congratulations on joining the SMU Sacramento community in January! I am the Student Services Coordinator in Sacramento and am looking forward to welcoming you to campus for your New Student Orientation on Friday, December 2nd from 9am to 4pm. More information to follow but for now, please save the date. *Please note: Orientation was originally scheduled for 2 days but has been changed to one day. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Best, Robyn Heise"

That's awesome to "know" of a couple heading for the program beforehand. As for the FB group, I would definitely be interested; however, it may be a little premature because I know prior classes have made the group usually around orientation when we all meet each other so there aren't duplicate groups. I'm Jennifer by the way!

How I Passed the TEAS Exam

I took the TEAS in May and spent a total of 3 weeks studying about 1-2 hours a day. I spent 1 week on math, 1 week on reading and English Language, and 1 week on science. I bought the bundle: study guide and 2 practice test from ATI. I did a total of 5 practice tests (I did not spend 3+ hours doing the practice test so I didn't score high on the practice tests; however, it gave me a general idea of how I would do given that I spent the entire time doing the actual test). To be competitive for the nursing program that I am interested in, my goal was anything above 85. My scores: Adjusted Indiv: 90.7 Math: 90.0 Reading: 90.5 Science: 89.6 English Language: 90.0 Hope this helps! -Jenn

How I Passed the TEAS Exam

Thank you SO much for this post. I found it very helpful considering that I took the TEAS yesterday and got an adjusted individual score of 90.5%. I followed most of the tips provided in this post. I took both the ATI study guide practice tests, the FREE practice test from TEAS Practice Test - Free TEAS V Practice Questions, and the 2 purchases ATI online practice tests. For all the online practice tests, I not only looked at the reasoning behind the right answers, but also the wrong answers as well. There were a couple things in the science practice sections that I later made some notes which came in super handy when I actually took the test!
