  1. CNA Frustrated with Being the Blame

Btw, these people saying "you should know better,” they are either full of it or completely ignorant. Again, you did your job. I have had COPD patients that stay in the 70s. It's up to me as the RN to review the vitals taken, don't let anyone tell yo...
  2. CNA Frustrated with Being the Blame

You did your job. You took vital signs and recorded them. The nurse is mad that it was not flagged sooner. That is not your responsibility. If only we had computer technology that let nurses know of vitals out of range... I heard it exists. Move on....
  3. Please advise me.

I don't care what state you're in or if you're private or public service. Overall, nurses fight for union representation. Respect it, apologize, and find another job if you don't like it (but I guarantee it will not be the same).
  4. So you're nonunion, got ***ed out by the patient, and you let the patient get the best of you. You'll get another job, but always remember, never lose your cool. I can't tell you how many times I saw red after being addressed as less than human. Some...
  5. University of West Florida FNP Fall 2022!

I did a little bit of reading on the Texas BON site. You're right, it is confusing. The only part that would make me concerned for you is that Texas requires an approval from their BON for out of state clinical hours. The link I found this informa...
  6. University of West Florida FNP Fall 2022!

I received an acceptance email at 10:30 this morning and my status shows admitted. I’m super excited!
  7. University of West Florida FNP Fall 2022!

My only backup plan is to perhaps try to get into the MPH program (it pertains to my career path) or wait until next year and try again to get into a FNP program. As far as the waiting is concerned, I have a saying, “It takes longer to say y...
  8. University of West Florida FNP Fall 2022!

Has anyone found out anything yet?
  9. University of West Florida FNP Fall 2022!

Hi All, Just checking to see if I'm the only one that is checking once a twice a day even though the earliest we can find out is going to be around the 10th?
  10. Med cart organization

Pre-survey and following state check is fast approaching. I have a nagging question about med carts in LTC facilities, specifically Florida. Is there an existing policy for how medications need to be organized in the cart? Should it be by room/bed n...

  12. Can't pass HESI, but graduated

And I hate that response... "schools get to make their own policies." If that were true, I could say that all nurse graduates need to know the Vulcan hand symbol greeting. No, Nursing schools are regulated for a reason. And I'm a bit upset that SO ma...
  13. Can't pass HESI, but graduated

For example, I was in a debate like this with my former school. I challenged them. Their policies and procedures state that proctored standardized subject exams can only account for 15% of a students grade and WILL be reflected in the syllabus. Anoth...
  14. Can't pass HESI, but graduated

I did use the incorrect wording. Elsevier is not "approved" curriculum. For example, my school tried to said that a 900 HESI score is required to pass NUR2811C. However, to make that a requirement of the course it needs a lot more approval than just ...
  15. Can't pass HESI, but graduated

HESI is a tool, I agree. However, all public nursing school curriculum must be approved by governing laws and rules by the state system and the accrediting group. Just as an example, the state of Texas has a rule not allowing a standardized test to p...
