  1. Davey Do stated so eloquently why I refused to give up my LPN status. The patient exposure fulfilled what I was meant to do in my life. The one on one interactions were priceless and not having to deal with administrative BS kept me where I wanted to be. Even with the promotion I received, being the Executive Director, I was able to maintain my "dream job" and help my patients. This may help you decide your future, KatieB. Good luck!
  2. Keep up with your battle, it helps to know that some of your co-workers are on your side and that HR isn't too biased. Who put you on quarantine? Was it justified? Keep us informed!
  3. You have nothing to be ashamed of. in the least! I agree with you. Why these Hilton Hospitals don't restrict/ or enforce visiting hours is beyond me . Some times I wonder if the patient is waiting for the nurse to intervene and ask the visitors to leave. How does one do that tactfully?
  4. FloatDaddy, what was the outcome of this incident? I hope you were able to get it straightened out without too many problems.
  5. Hppy, were you and your son able to go to Ireland? How did the trip go?
  6. Davey Do. I sit here with tears in my eyes with the devastating news you received about you little sister. She is in my prayers and sending healing thoughts. I know you will be there for her. Isn't it strange how things are working out?
  7. Davey Do, congratulations regarding your new job, Hope this one is less stressful as far as co workers are concerned. I can't help but ask how is your little sister doing? I wish her and your family the best,
  8. Thank you so much for sharing!! You are the best!
  9. tiff-jenn-RN, here's hoping and praying for a negative result. Please keep us informed. (((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))
  10. KatieMI, you mentioned in an earlier post that you and your DH were meeting with the teen and her father. What was the result of that meeting? Hope you are continuing to do better.
  11. KathyMI, I am so sorry you had to go through this life threatening situation and that you are on the way to a complete recovery. Who did this cute little demonic chick fess up to? I hope it was someone in the medical field who were attempting to save your life. The reason I asked, if so, I believe that person could testify to the event. IMHO, I feel she should be charged with attempted murder. That would keep her away from so many unsuspecting, vulnerable patients. I implore you to talk to an attorney. I know you are in a precarious position with your DH working with this clod of a father. There must be some way to get this girl banned from at least the nursing profession, What is your DH saying about this event? Is he aware that he almost lost you? Perhaps it is time for you to weigh the circumstances and decide what is more important. Please keep us informed on your recovery and the outcome of this travesty. I wish for the best for you and DH in this untenable travesty. Take care...
  12. My PMP always checks my BP with her own cuff...it's always amazed me. When I was taught BPing, we were told never to put your thumb on the stethoscope hub because your own pulse may be what is being recorded. Has anyone ever been taught this? Countless people almost always put their thumb on it when they take mine.
  13. OP, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this, and all the extenuating circumstances, it is blatantly a set-up. I hope you can get a lawyer to see if you have a viable case, (maybe a free consult?). Are there any out-patient surgical clinics in your area? That could be a source for employment. I wish you the best.
