My name is Emily, and in May I will be graduating from a 2 year associates degree program. All I've wanted to do is join the Navy. I've done a lot of research on how to get into the Navy as a nurse. Everything I read tells me I need a bachelors degree, which will take me an extra 2 years after school to get. My question is, does anyone out there know if the Navy offers anything like an RN to BSN program? I just don't want to have to wait around in my home town for an extra 2 year working on a bachelors degree before I can start my career. I've heard of the nurse candidacy program but am still unclear exactly how that works. Also, (just thinking long term here) but what kind of things should I expect working as a Navy nurse? I feel like I've done so much research but I still feel like I don't know what I'd be getting into. I'd love some advice from real life nurses about their journeys and how to achieve my goals. Anything helps!
