  1. Flunked nursing school, any way to return?

I'm not sure if I can appeal at the BSN program that I failed since I have moved out of state from the university I attended. Heh, the idea of trading people does sound pretty cool though!
  2. Flunked nursing school, any way to return?

So far I've tried looking into getting my ADN, but it is also being phased out in favor of the BSN; there's only one school that I know of that's close enough to drive to/be able to work at my facility. Unfortunately it's rated quite low quality. I d...
  3. Flunked nursing school, any way to return?

Definitely looking at retaking some of my pre-reqs in the difficult sciences, if only to ascertain how I can balance working and taking classes (one of my biggest issues was living in a toxic environment that I thankfully have left). I've spoken to a...
  4. Flunked nursing school, any way to return?

You're absolutely right! Thank you for pointing that out. I want to surround myself with plenty of options to follow my dream, no matter how long it takes to get there!
  5. Flunked nursing school, any way to return?

Hmm, definitely will consider, however, around where I live LVNs/LPNs are uh...being pushed out in favor of RNs. I'd look at LVN to RN path, but I'm afraid of the extra time and cost compared to getting my RN license.
  6. Flunked nursing school, any way to return?

Ah, is it because each nursing school is different, that the chances of nursing classes transferring over are slim to none? Thanks! I've been out of school for a year and a half now, working as a CNA and recovering. I really want to go back to school,...
  7. why do many MAs and CNAs call themselves nurses?

Quite often I get called "nurse" at my old job and it just was far too troublesome, tedious, and time consuming to correct a patient every single time because of my workload. Now I'm a rehabilitation tech at a hospital and patients just call me "aid"...
  8. I still want to get my RN license, and I was really close to getting it before **** hit the fan with PTSD flare-ups, not taking medial leave when I should, or getting the help I ought to have gotten. I know I have the capacity for grades for the fer...
  9. Now this is a skill I wished I learned in school, haha.
  10. What is the nurse-patient ratio where you work?

My past work, which had half the facility as long term patients and the other half as *short term* and worked officially under the title of "Medical Rehabilitation Center" had nurses at 1 to 30 patients, and I had anywhere between 13-20 patients as ...
  11. True, I grew up in an extremely conservative Catholic community were even the *hint* of being gay was considered GAY AGENDA STOP SHOVING IT DOWN MY THROAT...so showing that I'm not some kind of gay monster off to...ruin lives somehow but an actual hu...
  12. Taking a break from school

I would have taken a semester off, if I were you. I found out the hard, and I mean, really hard way that pushing through nursing school under duress is a fine way to get yourself on failing grades path. I didn't take medical leave when I should have,...
  13. I've redirected quite a few times with patients (though the gossipy types, both male and female don't seem to appreciate it, haha). It gets to be tedious, especially when I worked long term because I'm with patients when they are most vulnerable and ...
  14. Generally I've done the "no" "no" and "no" response, and I find, that even if I want to be polite about it, and reflect that in my tone, patients have become...uncomfortable, like I'm some alien that they can't relate to or hope to build a relationsh...
  15. Have you literally prayed over your workplace?

Hmmm, I've made the sign of the cross when I hear ambulances/fire trucks out and about when I worked in downtown Phoenix, but it was more out of habit from my militant Catholic upbringing than actual religious significance. I don't pray, nor care to...
