  1. I'm so sorry you weren't able to apply this semester. Taking microbiology will help you get more points though so that's a plus for you. Professor Spencer is great. I'm taking her class online (big mistake) but I've heard her on-campus classes are a breeze! As far as study tips, I don't have many. All in all, I studied for about an hour. The practice test was all I did just to get familiar with the format. There were several questions from anatomy but also some from chemistry and physical science. I made my best educated guesses! Reading comprehension and grammar are important but not difficult. Just take your time and pay attention to the details. The math wasn't as bad as I expected. Since you can't use a calculator, it's mostly general algebra. I need to brush up on my percentages. Good luck in microbiology and keep your fingers crossed for me!!

    Thomas Nelson Fall 2015 Applicants

So I took my TEAS on Friday and had to come back to this thread. I scored in the 94th percentile. I really hope that's good enough for the program!! When did you all get your letters?
  3. Hi Tamara, I took my TEAS today and scored in the 94th percentile. I hope that means good news is coming my way. How did you do? It wasn't as bad as I was expecting but I was definitely making quite a few educated guesses!

I'm taking classes at the Hampton campus so would like to attend there for the program as well. I'm in 142 right now and have Microbio next semester... Then my prereqs will be complete! But I am really so uncertain and worried about it all. Everyone says how difficult and stressful nursing school is. And I'm getting really freaked out about all the responsibilities of a nurse. I don't know if I can handle being the difference between life and death for patients! Do you feel the program will really prepare you, or is that something I should already be comfortable with?

Hi ladies, I'm taking my prereqs now at TNCC and wondering how you all did. Did you make it into the program? I keep hearing how insanely competitive it is and I honestly am not sure if I'll be pursuing my degree here.

    Fortis College?

My husband is being stationed in Virginia next month and I'd really like to get my degree in the 2-3 years we're there. I came across Fortis College today and like that it's only a 15 month program start to finish. My concern is the accreditation. They're fully approved by the BON, but not accredited. Their NCLEX pass rate was 75% last year. Since my family will obviously be moving around a lot, will I have difficulty finding a job without graduating from an accredited school? How much does that really matter if you've passed the NCLEX?
