I'm Jen, I started an associates degree RN program at Tulsa Community College in the Spring of 2014. After almost completing my 2nd semester (of 4), I realized I just didn't have enough time with my 5 year old son. I made the hardest decision of my life, which was too drop nursing school. I changed routes just a little bit and am about to finish my Medical Assisting with Phlebotomy course at Tulsa Technology Center. After working in the medical field for about a year and getting some hands on experience I plan to go back to school, but this time starting off with LPN school, then doing a LPN to RN bridge (Or even an LPN to BSN bridge). My ultimate goal is to get my BSN. I'm hoping that waiting till my son is a little bit older and getting experience in the field will help me out and possibly make schooling a little bit easier than TCCs program was. I understand that nursing school is never something that should be easy, but I'm hoping this will slow it down a little bit and make it not as intense. I'm very happy to be a part of the allnurses community now and hope to have my BSN within 5 years.
