Uncensored Thoughts of a Nurse Interviewer

You are awesome!! I received one of your articles through the graduate nurse network and it helped me land my first RN hospital job one week ago with your interview tips!!! Thank you so much for inspiring and motivating us new grads and I thank god for people like you that spread your knowledge and experience to us new comers!!! I just started orientation today actually on the med surg/tele unit and I went in with lots of confidence!! Thanks!:)

New Grad feeling depressed, anxious and hopeless

My advice is to possibly look for a job elsewhere in another specialty (postpartum possibly)...you earned your one year of med surge experience which looks awesome on your resume. Med surge isn't for everyone so find what fits YOU and makes YOU happy. And when you're at work and you start to feel stressed, go to the med room or somewhere quiet and take a breather, clear your head and gather your thoughts. Never give up on yourself and remember that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Best of luck!!:)

ADVICE NEEDED!! What should I do?

First off...why even come on my page and respond in a negative way (just curious why someone would want to do that) and second off, I decided to go AFTER getting positive responses from experienced nurses on here....KEEP IT MOVING IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY. THANKS FOR BEING CURIOUS AND I HOPE YOU FOUND WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

    What's my next step?!!

Hello, I would like advice on my next step...I am a new RN but I have been an LPN previously (5 years). I was offered a job on a med surge/tele unit(internship) at a local hospital and I accepted BUT the next day I got a call from two other hospitals wanting to panel interview me for a labor and delivery internship position. I want to know if I should go to the interviews or just stick with the job that I accepted?? On a side note....one of the reasons I went back to school is to become a labor and delivery nurse but now I don't know what to do with this job, I mean i'm not even sure that they will even offer me a l/d position and I don't want to burn my bridges with the place that I did accept the position with. The pay is all the same no matter where I go so that's not a factor BUT the job I accepted is much closer than the other two hospitals that are offering the l/d internship. HELP!!! Thanks in advance for responses!!!
