has 40 years experience and specializes in AcuteMentalHealth and preventative care.
I started my nursing career in 1974 in a general hospital in the Netherlands,
added Mental health to my curriculum.
When the educational systems changed, I added a University degree in Social Science (as I did not want to do all my nursing AGAIN.
In 1989 I joined the Nurses in revolt in the Netherlands. VVIO. This lead to a new Nursing Organisation for the whole country ( NU91).
In 1995 I moved to New Zealand and became "just a nurse" again.
Now I am back to the point where I was in 1992: ready to get nursing and Healthcare back on the political agenda. For our health care sakes.
I live in Hawkes Bay NZ with my wife and still enjoy my nursing every day (though I hate the soul destroying bureaucracy around it)
