Hello fellow nurses! I've been an LPN since 2007 and have been lucky enough to pretty much work in specialties. The first year and a half I worked ALF, then moved onto travelling Therapeutic Apheresis Nurse, performing procedures such as therapeutic plasma exchange, stem cell collection, platelet depletion, white blood cell depletion and red blook cell exchange /depletion. After about 4 years, I was exhausted...on call every other week 24/7 and constantly getting called; in would frequently work 18+hours. I decided that I didn't want to burn out so I got a job in Specialty Pharmacy educating Oncology pts on their oral chemotherapy medications. I couldn't be happier!
