    You loose a lot of them. Our unit doesn't accept anyone with IV's or even foley catheters. It's a trade off, you don't have all the medical issues but then you have agitated pt's at times to deal...

    We went smoke free about 6 years ago also. All the staff thought we'd have big problems with pt's being agitated and oddly enough everything turned out fine. We make sure to get nicotine patches...

    OMG! That's crazy! I work in inpatient psych in a hospital and our RN to pt ratio is 1:5. We don't even have to lead any groups. Just med's, daily assessment, adding any notes about anything...
