  1. Wage for STNA or CNA

Because it's basically unskilled labor. That never pays well.
  2. Feeling discouraged.

You've been accepted into four programs? Uh, yeah, checking out of this thread before I say something that will get me banned.
  3. Circ boards

The fact that this human rights atrocity is still imposed on newborns in 2015 is a stain on health care in this country. Worldwide we're largely regarded as barbarians for doing this to our babies. http://Http://www.Childrightsnurses.org http://Http...
  4. I really think maybe abuse victims should refrain from responding to some threads, because the level of unfair assumption going on here is off the charts. We all have topics we're better staying away from, KWIM?
  5. California Vaccine Bill Eliminates Personal Exemption

No one has ever thought it was unvaccinated children's fault. It's their bone head parents' faults.
  6. Not working during nursing school?

Disagreeing with you does not make me uneducated. Now who's judgemental?
  7. Nursing and the supernatural

    Eek. That's really creepy.
  8. Babies on a plane!! (and also cord clamping)

Oh my....I may or may not have watched several episodes of a Baby Story while acting like that..... When I was trying really hard to have a VBAC I had to stop watching that show. It was sucking my will to live.
  9. Not working during nursing school?

This. I have no problem with supporting those who can't take care of themselves. The able-bodied and perfectly capable? Not so much. No one else pays my family's food bill while I'm in school.... I don't have a choice but to work full time.
  10. Reading Recommendations for a future CNM student?

I enjoyed reading it, but ended up not sure how I felt about it at the end.
  11. Reading Recommendations for a future CNM student?

I believe Midwives was written by Chris Bohjalian. I might have spelled the last name wrong. That's the one that takes place in Vermont, right? Court case, etc? If you've never read The Red Tent by Anita Diamant I highly recommend it.
  12. Ridiculous medical mistakes on TV

What the...? If milk is coating your lungs you have more problems than a bleach-dunking.
  13. LPN bridge to BSN

If you're referring to my post above, I was talking about the ABSN program at Arizona State University. You must have a previous bachelor's degree, which I do, so I checked into whether I could apply for that program if I were already a LPN. It's n...
  14. About apologizing

I've only ever been an employee on the bottom rungs so far, so I have no experience with being anyone's boss to offer. However, I can tell you about the fact that my parents NEVER apologized to me even when they were obviously and blatantly wrong, mi...
  15. Feeling discouraged.

So....have you applied to any other programs?
  16. Wrongful Termination?

Whoo boy, remind me not to piss you off! You are hard core! Love it.
  17. Wage for STNA or CNA

TIA = thanks in advance STNA is another term for CNAs, I believe, specific to a couple states but used nowhere else.
  18. Quit during orientation

You'd have to be literally the most insecure person ever to walk the earth to care that much about the opinions of a bunch of random internet strangers.
  19. How do you leave it at work?

I believe the term you're seeking is "cranio-rectal inversion."
  20. Made a CNA Mad: Is it better not to help CNA's?

I've always considered it rude for a nurse to interrupt my care of one patient to direct me to do something for another (outside of emergencies obviously). Right now, the patient for whom I am caring deserves to be my focus and not to be made to fee...
  21. Shocked and Floored-Chronic Pain Mgmt

What the hell is this?! I saw nothing in the post to which you responded that justifies this.
  22. How do you leave it at work?

    Cognitive disconnect?
  23. LPN bridge to BSN

I live in Phoenix Metro and Arizona State has an ABSN program for those with a previous bachelor's degree. I'm currently enrolled in a LPN program and asked if I could enroll in that ABSN program if I'm already a LPN. The answer is YES! As long as...
  24. How to prepare for first hospital job in inpatient psych unit?

Ooooh, you win the vocabulary award today! However, I don't know if it's possible to "stock up" abstemiously. PS love your new avatar photo. I'm old enough to remember Dr. Johnny Fever from WKRP.
  25. Ridiculous medical mistakes on TV

Oh dear Lord, and she's supposed to be a medical doctor in that show. PS I remember that episode of SVU. Don't be hating on Elliot Stabler. I have a passionate love affair with that man.
