Anyone currently attending WGU-TX prelicensure program?
Hi txnurstud - I have been following your posts and feel we have very similiar experiences with our undergraduate degrees in Business and our passion to transition into nursing (but needing to work). I was wondering if I could connect with you offline (email) as I'm hoping to get some information that you have learned and advice as I see you are currently at WGU- Congrats! I'm still taking pre-reqs but have been looking at UTA, TWU, and WGU. However, with WGU, you have to a LVN, CNA, or similar so I'm wondering how you advanced to obtaining your LVN. Look forward to hearing from you! Kristi

Working Full-Time While Going to Nursing School
Thank you all! I just created a post about the TWU Evening/Weekend program. I want to inquired about the statistics of students working FT and going to school. UTA also has an AP BSN, but they don't allow you to work. It's only 13 or 15 months. I'm looking into that option as well as it's minimal impact to my famiily as far as the length of the program goes. I'm so torn between TWU Evening Weekend Program: still being able to work and bring in income for family YET 2 year program AND UTA AP BSN: not being able to work YET only 13 or 15 months.

Twu weekend nursing program spring 2011
Did you ever receive an update on the TWU and UTA program and the options of working full time/part time, or not at all? I'm interested in knowing as well.

HELP - Online Nursing Programs
Yes, I totally forgot to say that I do expect to do clinicals onsite. I'm referring to the classroom aspect of it. Are their any schools that allow for the classroom to be online (or in the evenings) with your additional clinicals onsite at a local hospital?

HELP - Online Nursing Programs
Hello! Let me provide a little about my background before providing my question. I'm 35, married, and work FT in Corporate America. I live in the Dallas, TX area. I have a 3 year old and we are planning to have 1-2 more kids. I have a BBA and MBA but have a strong desire to switch careers and go into nursing. I have pondered on this for several years and have considered going into other directions due to all the programs locally that are FT during the day which is not feasible. However, my heart keeps leading me back to nursing. I currently also volunteer at a hospital. I'm willing to put in the work needed but wanted to see if there are any recommended online programs for obtaining that BSN to where I can still work FT or any campus programs that are in the evenings/weekends? I REALLY want to go to nursing school but can't afford to not work as we depend on both incomes. Right now, I'm taking prereqs but looking at all options. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Working Full-Time While Going to Nursing School
I was wondering if anyone works full time while going to nursing school? I currently work FT in HR and am in the process of taking prereqs to transition career to nursing. I do plan to work while in school but was told to only work PT. I have a husband who works and a son, but we depend on both of our FT incomes to make it so I'm little worried about how it's going to work when I'm in nursing school and working PT. I read a few posts where people are in my situation (spouse, kids, needing both FT incomes) and they work FT. I'm hoping to hear from individuals who currently works FT and go to nursing school and those that have done it. I know it's challenging but was it impossible? HELP! Thanks :)
