  1. RPN to BScN 2020

If there were a January intake for bridging I would be all over that!
  2. RPN to BScN 2020

Whaaaat?! Wow. You'd think they'd sync up their admission letters just a little! I wonder why so late. Thank you for telling me! I may well stick to GBC as I have a new nursing job in Toronto but it'd be nice to entertain Mohawk at least ?
  3. RPN to BScN 2020

I just assumed that meant rejection as mine's the same. The deadline to accept GBC's offer was today, so I went ahead with that.
  4. RPN to RN Programs in Ontario

Well that's amazing. I'll bet it creates a feeling of camaraderie among students as opposed to nurturing that competitive theme I saw with the PN program. Well done, Mohawk.
  5. RPN to RN Programs in Ontario

Sorry, what do you mean one stays in the Mohawk/McMaster program? Do you mean there's no application from Mohawk to McMaster after that first year? I had no idea!
  6. RPN to BScN 2020

I'm glad I'm not the only one waiting! I heard from GBC a while ago but am waiting on Mohawk. I just received an email today saying they didn't have proof of my CNO renewal. It's good to hear they'll let you know about their decision!
  7. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

    That's the one!
  8. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

It's an odd one. But I think GBC preps you well, so if you succeeded in the program (which you obviously did) I don't think you need to stress. The prep guide is really helpful though. My method was to run through that and simply review the areas in ...
  9. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

Yes, I took it in February. :) Good luck, you'll nail it!
  10. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

Congratulations! Perhaps I'll see you there. :) (I also got in, just mulling it over)
  11. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

It's odd, I hear such mixed experiences! One friend aced the PN program but literally failed the bridge year. Another said she found it to be as big a leap as 1st semester to 2nd in the PN (but still passed with hard work). Interesting!
  12. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Edit: I missed the latest post, sorry! I'm not sure what she means by fast track? Semester 4 is offered to a limited number of students in the summer but that's all I've been aware of haha. I actually was told the same thing when I applied, that I co...
  13. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Well, the reason for the incredible pass rate is because it's not an easy program haha. If you can handle that program you can handle the CPRNE, I believe is the message there. Do not stress about first semester. Things get more challenging in the s...
  14. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Congratulations on getting in! It's an intense program, but it will prepare well you for your career. I'm entering my final semester in the fall. Textbooks are pretty easy to find. Buy from students or Amazon - much cheaper than the bookstore. I ag...
  15. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

Me? Nope I haven't bridged, I'm still in PN. :) Unfortunately I don't really ask people their grades to be honest. My study group was pretty strong academically and they're the only 3 I shared marks with. I definitely advise seeking out your coordina...
  16. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

Hello! Take what I say with a grain of salt as I'm just a student. If it were me I would upgrade the failed course rather than spend time on courses that aren't very applicable to nursing. To upgrade it wipes the lower grade from your transcript. I d...
  17. George Brown RPN Bridge Program

I think you'll find it isn't too bad. Although the website states you can't score below B- in anything, what they actually do is pair up certain courses and take the average between them. I highly recommend speaking to an academic advisor if you're w...
  18. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

    Congratulations!
  19. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Wow. That changed since I did semester one! We did all that long division on paper haha. Brutal. (so professional too...)
  20. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

The only class they offer in the summer (sometimes) is sociology. Otherwise it's just classes a lot of people failed (Patho, Pharm). I think the grade requirement varies and is probably more a reflection on how you rank against your class (of those w...
  21. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Very good advice re: brushing up on math! I got 92% in university calculus but trying to remember long division (because we weren't allowed calculators) for that math course was actually a struggle. If you don't use it you lose it! I'm still there, ...
  22. I find this really interesting as my peers (PN's) are discussing what to do next (to bridge or not to bridge) and haven't heard of health care administration as an option before.
  23. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Well there are a lot of parents in the program. For many this is a second career, and speaking as a student without children, I have no idea how the mothers of the program manage it. They're superheroes. It's also different than university in that t...
  24. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

I'd agree with that. I didn't see anyone drop out in my semester 1. But once you're placed in an agency (for me, I had it in semester 1 but that changed) starting in semester 2 and actually need to master your time management skills it becomes too mu...
  25. Jan 2017 RPN - George Brown

Congratulations! Honestly there's disorganization in both programs but I think that's just the reality of PN. You get what you put into this program. So being ecstatic is a great start. :)
