  1. CNA before nursing

I don't necessarily think that it should be a requirement, but I think it's a really good idea. I was a CNA before I was a nurse and that helped me a lot in nursing school.
  2. BSN programs are harder than ADN

I graduated from an associate program and it was very challenging and has the reputation of being much harder than surrounding BSN programs. I am currently pursuing my BSN and think the work is no where near the difficulty of nursing school. I just d...
  3. Walkie Talkie

I can't say I've ever found it offensive and I've heard it too many times to count in report.
  4. Refusal of AM Care re: Schizophrenia

It's really important with these patients to establish trust and a good rapport. I had a patient like this and first time I went into her room cussed me up and down and told me that everyone at the hospital hated her and wanted her dead. I pulled up ...
  5. hate CNA = hate nursing?

I'm pretty sure that no loves changing briefs and giving baths, but it comes with the territory. I started out as a cna and I liked that job for the most part. It doesn't necessarily mean that you won't like nursing, but depending on where you work y...

This same exact situation happened to my good friend. They waited a little over a month before contacting her again! If it were me I would contact HR or the nurse manager or whoever offered you the job.
  9. Male nursing dress code?

You will need to check your school or hospital dress code and when in doubt check with your supervisor. To me it wouldn't be a problem, but I do know of at least two schools in my area that want the make students to have very short hair.
  10. Would an online A&P course affect admission?

I would definitely check with the schools. I took online micro and have had no issues, but I'm in a different state. I would also suggest not taking micro and A&P at the same time because they are both very hard courses.
  11. Days vs. Nights & Nursing school

When I was in nursing school I worked both day and night shift and I found that day shift worked much better for me. However, I didn't do online school and I have no husband or children. I found that being on nights I was more tired and I studied les...

I recently took and passed the NCLEX using Kaplan and I had similair scores to the ones posted. I also thought about rescheduling, but then decided to go ahead with the test and I couldn't be more happy that I did! Just keep doing practice questions ...
