FSCJ SPRING 2015
Hey guys!! Congrats to everyone who got in! I got into this current fall term and I know how stressful it was waiting for my acceptance letter! We waited 8 weeks!! I can't believe I am almost done with term 1 already! Time will fly before your eyes!! ANYWAYS! lol I have a question for you all who got in! I am selling my scrub tops because I got smaller sizes. I got XS and one I haven't worn yet with the tag still on and the other I wore twice and didn't do anything in it anyways lol If anyone is interested I would love to sell them ASAP! Also, has anyone started a FB page for your cohort yet? If not someone should make one. It is perfect to ask all sorts of questions on it and for everyone to talk together. I would love to help anyone with questions about anything! There will be a lot of them ALL the time! lol Things are always changing in this program and you will have to get used to it or get out. Simple as that. ' Congrats again!!! Enjoy your freedom while it lasts because that all ends the day classes start! lol

FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls
Hey everyone! I applied with 201 and got accepted for daytime!! I have been stalking this thread constantly since the deadline and I just wanted to clarify a couple things for people. 1. You have to leave a voice mail message by July 28th on whether you are accepting or declining your seat. 2. You have to turn in the confirmation page of the background check and the carbon copy of the drug test by July 25th. 3. The rest of the health information is due by August 8th and also flu shots won't be in till the middle or end of September so don't worry about that. In the packet it says they will let us know when that is due. 4. The rest of the materials we need (i.e. skills kit, stethoscope, bp cuff ect.) isn't needed till the first day of class (August 25th). Also, I have a couple friends in the summer term and they said the quiz they give out in orientation was easy and ungraded. I think they said it was 25 questions and as long as you go over the study material they gave us then we will be fine. There is so much to do already but as long as you are on top of it then nothing to worry about. I can't wait to meet everyone and start this amazing journey! It will be tough but we can get through it! Yay!!!

FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls
I talked to cheryl just a couple days ago and it turns out that I will only have one year of work experience instead of the two years because the first year I worked as an EMT was on my town's rescue squad which was volunteer run. I think that is ridiculous because I worked full time and I responded to 911 calls with direct patient care and assessing. Just because I wasn't paid means I didn't get the experience?! However, with my grades and my one year of experience I will still have a 198.72 and I will be retaking the NAT soon so I will hopefully boost it a couple more points! Cheryl said that I had to have the letter say my dates of employment, my job title and saying I had direct patient care to count. Also on company letterhead with their signature. What was your overall score that you applied with for the summer term? They are so strict on experience! But then again it is very competitive!! Are you reapplying for fall? How many points will you have then?

FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls
Hello everyone!! I am also applying for the fall term this year and I wanted to start in the conversations and maybe get some encouragement. Right now I am in micro and statistics and I have an A in both classes. I want to share my info and get feedback on it and will read whatever people would like to say back! My NAT score right now is 94.72 and my grade points so far if I get A's in micro and statistics will come out to 99 points. Even if I get a B in micro (which I am doing everything to get that A! lol) I will have 95 points for my grades. So with the A's my score would be 193.72 and the B would be 189.72. I know the cutoffs from this years spring and summer term and last falls also. I think I have a really good chance but I am just so nervous, as I am sure as everyone else is!!! But I am retaking the NAT at the end of this month and I know I will boost my score because I didn't even finish a few questions on the reading. Also, I have 2 years of work experience so that would bring my final total, with the current NAT, to either 203.72 or 199.72 (depending on micro). I feel like I should be fine but you never know what the cutoff for this fall could be! I talked to Cheryl and she said there are only 144 students being accepted for fall. One of the guys in my micro class got accepted into the summer term this year and there were only 91 students who were accepted and the cutoff was 185.5 This is just so nerve racking and it isn't even the end of the deadline yet!!! lol!
