ITT RN grad RN to BSN programs
Good for you and Im glad it worked out. I attend a nursing program in Ohio and had no problem transferring any of classes, they took every single credit that I had from the community colleges as well as from Breckenridge. So nothing is ever impossible you just have to keep trying and seeking out what you want.

ER position
We had several new nurses in orientation who got hired for the ER, so I would say go for it if you believe that you can learn it and do it. Don't be afraid to try what you want to do......

Purpose for word, power point, and excel in nursing
Excel is used for staff scheduling assignments, Word is used for creating letters to go out to staff and also for meeting notes. I really don't get why they create assignments like this, its sort of ridiculous.

Neuro or Observation Unit - New Grad
I recently got hired for a Neuroscience unit and Im so excited!! You make it sound so interesting lolol thanks for the reply. QUOTE=HouTx;8694607]I am biased. I LOVE Neuro... began my career as a new grad in NeuroTrauma ICU. I love the 'exactness' of neuro; it's so logical. Direct connections between damage/harm and subsequent deficits. I also really liked the patient population. It was primarily 18-35 year old males that tend to adhere to the "hey Ya'll, watch this" type of reasoning after consuming adult beverages. Spinal injuries are so complex and challenging. Frontal Lobe damage can result in some real hair-raising behaviors. Overall, I really liked the camaraderie between docs, nurses, and therapists - lots of teamwork and collaboration.

Welcome to our new Neurological Nursing forum!!
Yea I was looking for some info as well due to getting ready to start a new position and nothing as of yet. Hopefully you will get some answers or what you could try is calling some Neuro unit managers about shadowing, which would yield some really good first hand experience.

Pearson Vue Trick
Um you may not want to try this because its really risky!! People have been charged for the exam again and found out they passed the first time so be very careful and use a different strategy. I also heard on here that someone used an invalid exp date for the credit card and was still charged for the exam. Be wise in choosing!!!!!!

Yea that 35 page study guide on here is that deal................I used it to study for NCLEX and the mnemonics were outstanding for memorization.
