Mona Shattell

I am an associate professor in the School of Nursing at DePaul University. I received my PhD in nursing from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Prior to joining the faculty at DePaul University, I taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My clinical specialty is in psychiatric and mental health nursing. My research primarily focuses on mental health-related issues including psychiatric treatment environments, patient-provider relationships, and the mental health of various vulnerable populations. I am an Associate Editor of Issues in Mental Health Nursing and the author of more than 90 journal articles and book chapters.
