But yet if you don't report it and it is found out later, you are in the same boat? It's so sad that this is what it has cone to.

Omg! That is awful! I would have hired a lawyer! Nurses are mandated reporters!

Yes myself and my employer reported the problems together.

I get what you are saying. I really wish my supervisor would have recommended this! I am done with the case now so lets hope she just leaves me alone. Thank you for the advice!

I write up a summary of the night every night and send it into the agency in which they keep in a large binder at the agency. I would think keeping copies would be a violation?

I am going to do that just in case. Ugh I really need to get out of the agency all together!!

Good point I never thought of that! What a nightmare.

I told my boss on several occasions what was going on. I hope that is enough? I dont really know what else to say. You would think that they would look at it and wonder why she would want me back if these things were actually true? This scares me to death knowing that she can pretty much say anything she wants.

I was called down for a meeting with 2 of the big bosses yesterday...I was so nervous because I was thinking the worst and that this lady must have seriously lied or something. Anyway, it turns out that she tried to say that I was sleeping on the job and not documenting meds. What????? Total lies!!! The agency knew ths med part was not true because they get all my paperwork, and ummm..I would be scared to death to do anything more than blink in that place! I was furious but my boss was very understanding and told me that this woman is obviously not normal. When my boss asked her why this is the first time she has said anything, she said that she was trying to work it out with me so I wouldnt be in trouble. Now THAT is FUNNY!! I am so appalled that she can do all this with a clear conscience. Sickening!! Anyway, the funny part about it is that she said she just wants a break and I can go back next week. Um...not going to happen!! This is a game she plays and I am not risking my license for the likes of her..God knows what she'll say next!!! The up side is that the meeting went well and she offered me hours as an HHA, but meeting me halfway between pay. Yes, its still a big cut but at least i'll have my sanity until I find a new job (which they are also helping me with). Im so relieved to be done. The only thing I worry about now is retaliation when I dont go back...maybe more lies? I would think if she tries that then the agency would just laugh it off. For goodness sakes. Ugh

I have discussed what I should do with my bosses and they say that it is their home and I cant change them? The whole situation makes me feel awful!

I absolutely agree with the child abuse...all has been relayed to my boss. I have said all along that if he is on cpap at night and o2 during the day, why is it ok for 3 adults to be smoking arounf him? And he sleeps in the living room of a very small apartment so it is not like he can really escape it at all.

Update!! I got thrown out of her house last night! This is what happened: The boy got his head phones stuck in his cpap mask so I was trying to untangle it. While I thought his mom was asleep, suddenly I hear her yelling at him to sit the (obscenity) up. I turned around to explain that I was trying to untangle his ear phones and she began screaming at me saying she wasn't talking to me she was talking to her son....this went on for several minutes and included many harsh obscenities. She then went in her room and slammed her door. I then couldn't hold it back anymore and began crying from the stress and she came back out of her bedroom and saw me. She then proceeded to scream at me again and she said I was child for crying. I told her this was abuse and she proceeded to tell me to get out of her bleeping house. As I was gathering my things she called the agency and said she is relieving the nurse immediately. On the way home I about had a nervous break down. I had to call my husband to talk me through the 45 minute drive as I was shaking and so stressed. Anyway, I just got off the phone with my boss and she was understanding....again, she has dealt with this woman in the past. I am left with feelings of being taken advantage of because if the agency knew how she was then why in the world would they put me in that situation? I have come to realize that while I have 5 kids to support, no money is worth the mental anguish I have dealt with. I will get through until something else comes along!

No the agency does not help. I am at a loss. These 3 adults live on the rush of intimidating people. This woman has even stormed in my boss' office!! Also, my father was found unconscious on his garage floor due to extreme hypoglycemia so I missed one night and boy I heard about it!! She just wouldnt stop. She acts like she should always be my first priority! Now I fear getting sick and having to miss time. This is not fair.

I totally hear you. The game was to assure he had a nurse with him, so I changed my schedule to make it happen. And the flowers were because the boy was sad one night and said he wishes he could do something nice for his mom. I was really trying to be a good person...but I totally regret it. This woman even fired her sons physical therapist because he asked her son to go into the bedroom and pick out clothes and try to get dressed on his own. She totally flipped and said that no one tells her son what to do!! Unbelievable. I am just at my wits end with this lady. Trust me...what I have explained here is putting it mildly and leaving out all the obscenities. To top it off I an a non smoker and there are 3 adults in this home that chain smoke and could care less about it. My nursing bag and my scrubs smell awful and the smell wont come out. It really is all around a bad situation. I am out of there as soon as I get something new.
