  1. In general, the online is the same as the in school. The exception would be those diploma mill schools. My BSN is completely online, and I am doing the exact same work as the people who take in on campus. The exact same classes. The only difference ...
  2. Anyone know of a lpn program in az?

  3. Time expired @158 Question

For sure she was misinformed. I mean, you can't get 60 questions correct in a row...the NCLEX would make the questions harder and harder until you couldn't answer them. Anyway, to me, it seems the OP ran out of time. Egaads I can't imagine sitti...
  4. Time expired @158 Question

Yes, it will look at the previous 60 questions, but the PP said that you would have to get all previous 60 correct-which is wrong. Good luck OP. Let us know what happens....
  5. Time expired @158 Question

6 hrs? I think you are reading way too much into these questions. Good luck, I'd hate for you to fail after all that...
  6. Would You Accept Swine Flu Vaccine?

That's a good point. I think the difference is that the MMr and other vaccines are tested and have been given for years, whereas the swine flu is new and untested or researched on a large level.
  7. Epinephrine Dosage - is this too much?

If he's on all those vasopressors then they need to nix the propofol. In fact, he's probably not waking up and bucking the vent at this stage. Plus, hopefully you don't have somebody on nimbex on not on fentanyl. Which they probably didn't. So I'd...
  8. Epinephrine Dosage - is this too much?

I've run it at 50, 80, and even 100 mcgs. But those people were definitely on their way out. However, the recommended dose, as per our pharmD is 1-10mcg.
  9. Would You Accept Swine Flu Vaccine?

I'd take just about any vaccine. But if I was told I had to, then there'd be a problem. I remember when there was going to be smallpox vax at my hospital. I volunteered. After doing some reasearch, I declined. Seems llike they are taking that part aw...
  10. Foley Catheter Insertion

How do you break sterile technique by testing the balloon? I'm all sterile when I do that.. I've found balloons that haven't passively deflated, so I'll never not check the balloon. Leave the syringe intact, don't use the diamond holed paper.
  11. Welcome Visitors to AllNurses

huh. I wondered what the 'bot' in googlebot meant..
  12. New to Phoenix, Grand Canyon Uni or Chamberlain?

Aye...are more salesman, I mean, school reresentatives getting on here and defending their schools again?

  14. I Need RN Opinions Please.

Sure. Plenty of time with the old man. But, I also don't have children. I'm sure that complicates things.
  15. What's up with this? Interview denied....

    What??!!! Are you kidding me?
  16. 1yr RN programs anymhere

Why the rush? Honestly, I'd take my time right now. In 2 years the economy has a better chance of being more stable than in one year.
  17. Debinding textbooks -- Did you regret it later?

Nope, didn't regret it one bit. I kept the index and table of contents with me in my folder. I never needed to refer to any other sections, but if you had to, you could just do it later when you got home. I had a slim 1" 3 ring binder for NS use, an...
  18. Nurses on strike-is it even possible?

    Amen!
  19. Nurses on strike-is it even possible?

Plenty of management and PTB to cover pts. That's not a problem. Why there will never be a 100% strike is that nurses can never come together. We are too busy tearing each other down. We can't even get >6% of our RNs to join our professional nurse...
  20. If most people feel they failed, how does that benefit anyone?

For sure I think it's in people's heads. I think people overstudy even for basic tests. One time I got into a study group. Listening to the other people's notes on what they thought was important freaked me out! I thought, "holy crap, I didn't even t...
  21. True? --> "RN's Can Work 3Days/Wk And Make A Good Salary!"

I don't find most pts whiney. I find some whiney. But then again, I have real experiences to base that on. But, I'm a nurse for different reasons other than to avoid whiney people. Whiney people exist everywhere. I didn't choose my profession base...
  22. True? --> "RN's Can Work 3Days/Wk And Make A Good Salary!"

Here's the thing. It's not really about you when you are that busy. Being that busy is unsafe, and not about you 'not being bored'. Having '5 million things to do at once' isnt' fun. And among those '5million things' are decisions that you make tha...
  23. Welcome Visitors to AllNurses

If you look on the list, most of the people are here via googlebot or yahoo. I think a lot of the people are googling specific things, and that's it. Just a one time thing.
  24. If most people feel they failed, how does that benefit anyone?

I read about 200 question from the Saunders book while waiting for my plane home from my honeymoon. I flew back on a Friday, took the NCLEX on Tuesday. I only studied those 200 Qs. I totally knew I passed. And I did. I don't think people really mea...
  25. WHY are some PCT's so bitter towards new RN's???

That's precisely the reason I did not stay as an RN at the same place I was a tech. I knew the nurses would still see me as a tech, and want me to do all the 'tech' things, and I knew the techs would not find me believable as a nurse. I was lucky. ...
