I am a hospital float pool RN - mostly work med-surg, sometimes ER, ICU. I have never had a boring day at work. I am in love with cats but also enjoy talking to dogs. I prefer Bronte to Austen, Heathcliffe to Darcy. I have slept under African skies. I think sarcasm is a fine form of humour. I don't like iPones or Facebook at work.

    To get air out of an IV line (especially when it's causing the pump to beep): clamp the line near to the patient (below the access port you will be using) or disconnect the line from the patient's IV...
