Starting a thread for SDSU Spring 2013 Cohort

Thanks PCroizier, that's a bummer though. I wish they offered us something to do in the meantime..like an optional course to help us prepare for our nursing classes this coming spring. I feel like my knowledge of physio/anatomy are slipping away taking all these other courses they got us doing ha ha. Hope your semester is going well

Starting a thread for SDSU Spring 2013 Cohort

Hi guys :) ! It's been a while since I've been on here. Just wondering, has anyone heard back from the S.O.N yet ? From what I can remember the email said that we would hear back from them with some more information/instructions sometime after this fall semester started. I just want to make sure that I'm not the only one who hasn't received anything yet.
  5. Awesome, love this post ! Whenever I read positive stuff on here it just makes nursing...and life that much better ha ha!

    SDSU Fall 2012 admission hopefuls

I start nursing school in the spring, so I was wondering if anyone can tell me what courses nursing students take the first semester of the program ? Also, I've completed most of my upper division explorations courses already so I have no idea what to take this fall until the program starts ha ha. Do any of you know if I can take NURS 200 this fall even though I don't start the program til' spring?

Starting a thread for SDSU Spring 2013 Cohort

Hi guys, I've been on the fall 2012 forum, but I thought it would be a good idea to join in on this thread since I applied for the spring 2013 cohort as well. I can't wait til' we start hearing about acceptances.. July seems so far from now ! I'm excited to see this thread get more traction.

    SDSU Fall 2012 admission hopefuls

hi pandita, sorry to hear about the news. I'm curious though.. how many points would you have had total with your volunteer hours included? I applied for the spring cohort though so I have yet to hear back about an acceptance, but I'm a little worried too. The hospital I volunteered at wasn't very hands on either.. volunteers weren't necessarily allowed to touch the patients, I think it's like that at most hospitals though, so I think its a little unfair that they state that volunteer work should be "hands on." Have you tried contacting the School of Nursing office to verify with them how they added up your points ? Best of luck.

thanks Slu92 ! I was wondering when the individuals who applied for spring 2013 would be notified also. July makes sense since we still have to turn in our grades from this semester by the end of June. ahhh so anxious !! anywho goodluck to those of you hoping to get into the fall 2012 cohort ! Looking forward to hearing from you all on here within the coming weeks.
  14. I'm taking organic chemistry and physiology at the same time and I'd say taking two science courses isn't that bad. Oddly enough organic chemistry is my favorite class. I don't have a job or kids either and I use the bulk of my time studying. I think you can definitely handle it. Stay focused! However, if you do feel overwhelmed and feel as though you can't handle it, don't be afraid to drop one of the two courses or one of your GE courses. You never want to overload, if you have problems don't hesitate to talk to an advisor for advice, especially if your worried about finishing your pre-reqs by a certain time. It's best to take a fair amount of classes and get all A's as opposed to overloading and putting your grades at risk. Other than that, I say go for it and feel it out, if having both classes doesn't feel right then drop one before the drop-deadline. If you feel confident though, I say stick with it ! As long as you study and attend class you should be fine , GOOD LUCK !!
