  1. traveling solo/cities

Hello, So I've realized that I don't have enough experience yet to do travel nursing(wouldn't want to jeopardize my license!) But I desperately want to get out of my hometown/state, so now I'm at the point of just applying to specific hospitals in o...
  2. Drawing up meds

I have a patient I recently started and for some reason the nurses on this case keep prefilled syringes of each med in large labeled baggies..I do not understand why they do this and always draw up my own meds, and if there is none left in the bottle...
  3. Drawing up meds

I agree, it it a huge problem when parents don't refill meds, at this house if the bottle is empty it's because the other nurses prefilled the syringes for the whole month. I already straightened that problem out by telling the parents, other nurses ...
  4. Drawing up meds

Thanks guys! I know not to give the meds that someone else drew up, I never do that. I was just wondering if it is ok to draw up the meds for the mom for the next day.

the test is different for everyone..there is a pool of questions that the computer will choose from. When I studied for my nclex I didn't focus on specific content areas. I did a ton of practice questions(a couple thousand) all from saunders, as that...
  8. question

i know someone who was recently sick and hospitalized, now that they're home the family wants a nurse to be there a couple hours during the day. However, this wouldn't be an official "job" through an agency, so it wouldn't actually be nursing..no med...
  9. question

That's what I wasn't sure of..if working privately would still go against my license. Thanks for clarifying that for me :) Some extra money is not worth risking my license!!
  10. question

I actually don't really know the family yet, they are friends of a friend.. I'm ok with just "babysitting as nurse" my only concern is what if there is a code situation or other emergency..I don't believe I can act on it as a nurse because I'm not o...
  11. Foster parent for medically fragile child

I actually just worked a DYFS case last week, the child who was in foster care had medical issues. The social worker did say that foster parents get good money for each child they take in, they get even more money if a child has medical needs.
