Linda, I know it is hard not to be discouraged. I do not know why they send so many cases to enforcement, maybe it is money for TBON. Your incident seems minor, so you may get cleared through the initial reviewer (the first 45 days)...well I thought mines was minor. It is no guarentee thge length on process and I know there is a list on one of the discussion boards on here that lists things can be approved by the director of operations. Maybe your case/charge whether dismessed or not is on it but if not, the wait has been over 6 months for a response. Good luck and feel free to keep us up on you journey. Hope it ends soon. Warm regards. Did you disclose your case to TBON? Huckleberry, It is simply amazing, never would have guessed.. Hope you get information and job soon. Best of luck to you..I will update you all soon. I wish they would let people know soon. Place on automated services that the time is soooo lengthy, so people won't waste time waiting..

Hey All, Received my letter 6/2 for me to sign and send back to enforcement department. Still was unclear to how it works.. So I called.. I mailed bakc back today..Will still have to wait an additional two weeks for executive director to sign, send me a final copy back and forward to license department. I can sign up for the class after that..umh.. So, that means it will be a total of almost eleven months for me to receive my license from TBON( time they received my application, inital review, forward to enforcement dept., final recommendation, sign, return again, executive director sign, and license)..wow! That is my story..

Advice re: Endorsment into Texas with a Reprimand on my license!

Yes, people have been processed before that time but more and more people are waiting over 6 1/2 months for investigation recommendations and if you are given any type of reprimands/ recommendations it takes an additional 4 to 6 weeks to have that completed and you get a final report.. so roughly total 8 months from enforcement intial review, not the day you sent your application in to TBON..I am not sure whether they have any information to let you know what TBON recommendations are for your case.... hopefully someone will respond that has has medication reprimand or you can check site for people who has been reprimanded by TBON and see what their recommendations/ stipulations were? Just my insight.... Hope I helped...

Ivannasuccessful, I was told through the enforcement department that you should wait for letter to come and receive information and set up class after that. I am endorsing to Texas so it may be different for NCLEX examinees. I am not sure of if it is 4 to 6 weeks from recommendations or 4 to 6 weeks from letter being generated..... After you send letter back they will send it to Examination department for notification.. Hope I helped.. Have a good week ..They are having another elgibility committee meeting June 12th so hopefully things will be finalized then..

Update: Huckleberry, Jurisprudence and ethics class is together. The cost starts @ 220$ and up to 350$. It is offered in Houston and other cities (for example San Antonio, Midland, Tyler). You have to sign up and pre-pay to some and others you can pay at the place. They have classes usually once a month and fill out paper for board and they will or you can send complete course work form to TBON. You can check it out on TBON website approved classes or goggle ethics and jurisprudence classes texas board of nursing and list will also come in the mail. You will still have to take the test jurispudence exam that is required by TBON. I was approved for licensure but I will have to take this class as well. You have to have class completed within year but I will definitely have it done ASAP. You have to send agreed order and send it back. I have yet to receive letter in mail. But I am okay with it all... So I checked it out for Us. :) So ready to move on.. Hope all is well with each person still waiting and anticipating their fate!

It is a everyday struggle.. Anger, resentment and uncertainty.. Praying and often try to find other things to keep mind off of it... Progress Yeah!! My knowledge..You will have to sign it (Agreed order) usually in front of a notary public and send it back. Then it will give your ATT for NCLEX. I am not sure if you can take jurisprudence first but I am pretty sure you can. I believe you also would have to take ethics class before issuance of license, not after. That's good you will not have anything stips on your license. Good luck..

Huckleberry, I have not recieved a letter yet but I have not made it to four to six weeks. I know recommendations has been made, So i will be hoping it arrive soon. I have had a few calls but you know you have to have the TBON number :) RNandlovingit, It is a case by case bases and the intial reviewer has certain infractions that he can okay and others he can not. TBON are super behind and I am not sure the difference from several years ago. I wish I was approve in a couple of months or less but unfortantly I have a felony and a misdemeanor arrest (both expunge now). Thanks for letting us know of your experience.

Is grad school really this hard to get into?

It took them about 8 weeks to respond for me. My application was complete in mid March and got an acceptance letter via email two days ago to University of Cincinnati. I start Spring 2013 for Adult Nurse Practitioner Program. I do not know anyone who has completed or going through program.

The TBON has eligibility/ discplinary committee meeting scheduled for May 7th and 8th. That may be one reason you are told to call back or they are just plain behind as usual. They gave me the same run around. I was @ two weeks outside my deadline. I was just dog tired. I spoke with my investigator due to information (recommendations of yay or nay) was not inputted in computer. It is always odd as to what information is conveyed because each person has a different response and answer for same situation.
