I have my 1st test tomorrow. Let's see how it goes :) Congrats on the good
  2. I was pre-med until last semester. I was out of home at 7 am and coming back at 10 pm. I was gone some weekends too. I spent my whole days on campus studying with classmates. My summers were...
  3. Take Biology I AND A&P I at the same time?

At least for us Biol I and II were pre-reqs for A&P. And I think those classes definitely help during A&P. But if you have reasonable time to dedicate to the courses and do well, I'd go for it...
  4. Generally an Associates has a core, and that core is usually transferable, but you'd still need to finish pre-nursing pre-reqs and I don't know if your Bus. classes would transfer too. It also depends...
  5. 1st A&P Tests!

My 1st test is next week so we'll see. 3 chapters plus extra material. Good luck to those taking tests these
  6. General Chemistry or College Chemistry?

College Chem is Chem for non-science majors? If so, I would go with Gen Chem. (I'm taking Micro for science majors this semester). These courses are easier to transfer.
  7. When will I get my TEAS Score?

I registered the TEAS a couple of days ago. The website says that it could take up to 48 hours to get your results but I've read here that several people got the scores
  8. Sometimes CCs have "flex terms" that open later in the semester, specially courses like Psyc. Ask an advisor. Have you considered taking them online at other states' CCs? If they're transferable, it...
  9. Question about the TEAS Exam/study guide.....

I haven't registered yet so I don't know for sure but TWU's webpage says that's $110. (Look at the link I
  10. Question about the TEAS Exam/study guide.....

If you register online, the TEAS V is like $110, and with the study guide, it's less than $150. I'll do that this weekend. (I checked Amazon, and other websites, and I didn't find a better deal. Only...
  11. How is your A&P teacher?

My A&P I professor was an Eastern European woman. Very nice person and very willing to help the students, but she didn't have the best control of the class (she would teach 2 or 3 people, almost...
  12. Is anyone volunteering?

What about other places to volunteer like Planned
  13. Is anyone volunteering?

Cool! I think all the units have patients that expect to be comforted. I see it every day in Day Surgery too. I was impressed at the beginning, because I wasn't a doctor or a nurse, "just a...
  14. I've always heard from advisors and professors to avoid taking 2 science classes together, specially if the student is taking more than that, but it really depends on the students. I've done it before...
  15. Microbiology - Richland College

I'm taking Micro there this semester, so no idea yet. I've found comments in "ratemyprofessors" to be usually very accurate. Did you check there?
  16. Is anyone volunteering?

Where are you located? I've been told in our hospital that volunteers are always needed, specially if they are reliable adults. (Some hospitals have lots of teenagers or very young pre-health students...
  17. Is anyone volunteering?

I've been volunteering in Day-Surgery the entire year. I plan to do the same for fall, and then switch to the ICU next spring. (I'm thinking that CRNA could be an option for me. :)
  18. Emergency! Help!!

Try Dallas County (DCCCD). I think they are always accepting applications. They are fast to process paperwork and they're registering people for Fall courses right now. They have online and on campus...
  19. New member applying for admission into TWU Dallas Spring 2012!

Good to know. I was reading another thread about applying to nursing and the TEAS V, and several people were expecting more A&P (Good, considering they could ask gazillion things! LOL). Thanks for...
  20. New member applying for admission into TWU Dallas Spring 2012!

Thank you Cristina! How did you study for your TEAS? I'm wondering if the ATI manual is enough or if I should look for something else? (88 is a good score,

Hi there! First of all, good luck to all of you that are taking tests these days! I was recently accepted to TWU. I plan to apply for Fall 2012. I was just reading that the OP had a 4.1 GPA. Is it...
