  1. Remember orientation?

I'm sure that every school's orientation is different, but I will share my experience. I had my own orientation as well as helped out with two others during NS. Ours lasted about 3 1/2-4 hrs. We talked about tips for success, rules/policies, had a...
  2. PREGNANT while nursing student???

I was pregnant (planned pregnancy) my third and fourth semesters of nursing school. I graduated top of my class, took the NCLEX and had my baby all within the space of a month. It didn't seem that hard at the time, but looking back on it, I realize...

  4. Planning for a baby while in school..

You asked if anyone else has been PG during the last part of school--I am not going to give you any advice b/c no one but you knows what is best for you, but I will tell you about my experience. I graduated this past May at 34 weeks PG with baby #3.....
  5. Just passed the NCLEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats, RN!!! It's such a great feeling to be done! I, too, am a high honors student, but that test really made me doubt myself. I think that no one feels good after leaving that test. So you are not alone...
  6. As I type this I am on hold with a supervisor from PearsonVue--Texas BNE says that PV has not sent my results from my NLCEX (taken 5/25). PV says that yes, they sent my results, but the BNE has 4 weeks to release my results. I understand that, but ...
  7. Anyone else having probs getting license after NCLEX?

Well--my phone calls lit a fire under someone's rear end b/c my results are FINALLY up on the Texas BNE!! Woo hoo (Yeah--I am a magnet for this kind of crap, too...)
  8. What's the earliest?

I would pay the money to see your results on PearsonVue (available 48 hrs after your test). I took my test on 5/25 and I am STILL waiting for the Texas BNE to update me from GN to RN. They say results are usually availbale 10 business days after a ...
  9. Is one NCLEX book better than the other?

I would highly recommend Saunders Comprehensive--the old version is green, the new one is blue (there is not much difference at all between the two). That is the only book that I used--I found the outlines very helpful when studying for tests in NS,...
  10. Test fatigue?

We had Arnett's pre-CAT in April, and the man studying my results told me the same thing. He suggested that I take breaks after 30-35 questions. When I took my NCLEX last week, I did just that. When I got to question 30 & again at question 60,...
  11. Infection control review on NCLEX-RN

I did have a lot of infection control questions--glad I read on here to study up on it. The only thing I used to study was my Saunders Comprehensive Book. There is a section in one of the first few chapters that talks about droplet vs airborne vs c...
  12. Suzanne's Study Guide for NCLEX?

I would highly recommend using her plan--I passed the first time using it!
  13. Pearson is down!

Congrats!!! I had to pay the $8, too, b/c my BNE doesn't have it up yet either --but yes. it was worth it, huh??!!

  18. took the NCLEX-RN & need advices

My experience was pretty much the same as yours...75 questions and tons of priority. I'm sure you did fine!! (The hardest part is the wait to find out the results!!) Let us know asap!
  19. NCLEX tomorrow...5/25

Edited to add: Paid the $8 to PearsonVue to find out I passed!! You know, for $8, there should have been alittle more fanfare than just the word "pass"--come on, no exclamation points?? No capital letters?? Some confetti and music in the background w...
  20. NCLEX tomorrow...5/25

Wow--I think if I had to wait 2 yrs to take a test, I would have done the same thing. Just sat with my legs crossed or something--LOL
  21. nclex tommorrow

You lucky dog--I had to fork over the $8 to Pearsonvue b/c my BNE is being incredibly slow. (I paid $2 a letter to see the word pass--why couldn't they have just charged me $2 for the letter "P" and I would have known--LOL) CONGRATS!!!!
  22. nclex tommorrow

According to Suzanne, PearonVue does not "close" for the weekend or holidays--so maybe you can find out before next week!!!
  23. NCLEX tomorrow...5/25

That's the last thing I would ever do...:chuckle I don't EVER want to be reminded of this test again!! BTW--shut off at 75 and had TONS of priority questions...we'll see by the end of this weekend!!
  24. nclex tommorrow

Good luck!! Hope that lobster dinner tastes great!
  25. Nclex

The 25th was the earliest I could test in the area I live (North Texas). As of two days ago, all spots until 6/12 were already filled. It really depends upon the area that you will be moving to & how many testing centers vs nursing schools are ...
